There are several different issues at play here. #1 Public perception in the 44.5 states outside of NE (half of CT is NY): I don't care if ************, Allah, Buddha and every other deity in the universe comes out this evening and proclaims that Brady and the Pats are innocent and victims of a smear. That's not changing 1% of the national fan base and their opinion that Brady and NE are cheaters. Nothing will ever change that. #2 Empirical, irrefutable evidence won't change many minds in the media. Most of them hate BB and Brady and they aren't much more open-minded than the moronic fans. #3 The NFL office and the other 31 teams: I literally laughed out loud when I read and heard about suggestions that Brady's fellow QBs and Kraft's fellow owners would come to their defense. The one irrefutable fact in this whole sordid affair is this: Roger Goodell, every opposing player, every opposing team, every opposing owner, every opposing coach and every opposing fan is sick to death of losing to the NE Patriots. They know they can't beat them, and the only other alternative is to slander, libel and screw them over. And they'll do it.

can someone mail florio to explain the 16PSI remark? more people out of NE who can write this the better coverage it gets nationally.

Florio is only targeting the PSI measurements becasuse he he himself floated the rumor that only 1 ball was 1PSI below 12.5 and rest were few ticks under.
This wells report is not making any of its conclusions based on the reading unfortunately . They are nailing tom for
1. Failure to cooperate
2. 'Deflator' word used in may.

Florio will still say tom should be suspended by this. All this PSI analysis meaningless in the ruling and florio is just writing stuff to bait clicks from pats fans.

The report says they do not put all the weight on the science for their decision, but it is a factor. There is literally over 100 pages or so dedicated to the science (11 pages of the actually report and a 100 pages or so for the Exponent study).

This article lost me at "And Tom Brady should be presumed guilty at best and suspended indefinitely until he gives up his text messages and emails at worst for his failure to cooperate with the investigation."

that would mean they would have to suspend gostkowski, too since he didn't give up his info either

somewhere de smith is laughing his ass off.........in all of this, I see the making of a huge power play by the union.......

Okay, let's all acknowledge that Florio is not anti-Patriots, which I have argued for years.

No, because he is anti-Patriots. And here's a good example:
Ho Hum. Ideal Gas Law will win out Frankly this just means more fish on the hook.

Oh, he is reluctantly reporting anything pro-Patriots.

It's up on CSNNE now. Editor Toscany wrote it. Not Felgie. Or Tanguay. Or even Curran. An editor. Suck on that one Felger and Mazz et al. Listening to this blathering fools that the gauges didn't matter. That it's nothing and it's misinformation that you would find on Patsfans.com. Literally heard this one time this week.

In the comments:

"Brian O'Neil
Whatever, the Patriots got lucky to win the Super Bowl. A dumb ass call by Carroll allowed them to win. This whole thing is stupid."

The hate brings me so much joy.

Yeah - that seems to be the thing now for some reason. I don't know what the sudden issue is with us, like Miguel, Steve, or I post anything for the sake of trying to spread bad information. I don't get that at all.

Hey Ian, relatively new here and glad to say hi.

Yeah literally I was stunned when I heard it. First I was like, wow did he just say that? Does he troll the site? Regardless, I've seen the things you guy write and its on topic, not misleading , and quite frankly on par with what is starting to seep out nationally. Keep up the good work!

When people say that, I think that if the Seahawks' won, the story would be that the Pats lost to the second luckiest catch in Super Bowl history. (They also lost a Super Bowl off the luckiest catch).

Lol. Ultimate two-face. Wait lets figure out Batman Characters!

Brady-Batman
BB- Comm. Gordon
Goodell-The Penguin
Wells- the Joker
Florio- take a guess

Pleas feel free to add or correct! This could be fun!

Only person I've ever heard say anything about patsfans.com is Felger. That quote sounds very Felgerian.

But, as you have pointed out, consistency, logic, and reason do not weigh heavily on the man who serves as judge, jury, and executioner. As long as the money rolls in, these deluded pecuniary sycophants believe they are doing a good job.

I think even the stupider owners are beginning to realize that a trained monkey could make money with the NFL.

Nothing I said was political, and don't tell me what not to post when I post comparisons, just because you happen to see what looks to you like a political component at first reading.

APOLOGIZE TO JACOBINS, HARD CORE COMMIES, AND CROSS-BURNERS!!! :) (That is a joke for some posters that need that explained.) I'd have used Cardinal Richelieu, Mao, and Mussolini, but 6 of one half dozen of the other.

I can only imagine the furor if I'd used "Machiavellian".

Florio is Harvey Bullock no, then he'd answer to Gordon.
Florio is Amanda Weller (spelling?)

Gary Tanguay is not a contrarian, nor a s##t-stirrer, nor an uninformed observer. He's an idiot, plain and simple. Moron, fool, dope, mentally-challenged, donkey, jackass...you name it.. He's it.

Thanks. Yes, it's odd that they care or pay attention to what we think, save for Miguel, who is constantly correcting inaccurate cap or financial reports in the media. So he's the one they should be listening to as he's always on top of things and if you follow him on Twitter you'll see he's finally getting some well-deserved recognition.

Steve and I post our own thoughts and opinions and try and stay relatively balanced, although this whole topic has me more irritated than at anytime in the 15+ years I've been at this so I've been a little more vocal lately. Otherwise when it comes to news, I'm limited to what I hear from a few guys I stay in touch with within the media and generally aggregate and attribute reports here. From there I try and expand and give my take on a subject, but certainly don't consider myself an "expert" by any means and try and make sure everything here is as accurate as possible at all times. I don't publish "click bait" stories, although I've been told it's a detriment and holding us back, but I'm just not a fan of creating noise for clicks. "It is what it is."

Overall, I'm with most of you in here who are frustrated by listening to the national outlets on this topic. Although I'm sure it's only going to get worse. :(
