Brady's response through Don Yee

Yee should just put out his notes of the whole Brady interview. Let's get it all out there.

Hold back.

You slowly give the enemy enough rope to hang themselves. Dont lay your cards on the table all at once.

I'm baffled by the number of intelligent fans here who are turning on Kraft.... as though Kraft is to blame for any of this.

Brady doesn't need Kraft to come down from the clouds and save him.... Brady has more than enough money and friends to defend himself. Why don't we leave Kraft out of this for now

Kraft should be glad Wells didn't do the Hernandez investigation :D. Wells would have written Kraft was more probable than not generally aware of Hernandez's murdering spree and did nothing about it.

It's not about Brady.

It's about the Patriots and the fans who contribute time, dollars and energy for making the Patriots a going concern.

Some of us are 50 years old and were at games in the 1970s. It's been a long road. We feel we have significantly invested our monetary, emotional and even intellectual capital in the team.

Kraft is squandering all we've done.

Bob has a legacy that he wants to protect as well. He wants to be perceived as the guy who saved NEP football and is the Ben Franklin of the NFL.

If Bob's legacy was that of Al Davis's, he'd be devastated.
I originally mis-read this. I'm sure BK wants to be remembered as the man who saved foot ball in NE. But he maybe remembered as the man who allowed his team and its achivements to be denigrated. If hes not up to the task maybe he should give this area of team operation over to Jonathan.

Kraft is limited in how he can respond. He has a contract with the league that states in round terms that he has to accept the findings of any league investigation /disciplinary action. Brady has no such agreement.

Whats the risk ? A fine ? Come on Kraft sits on a money printer...

It is not about saving Brady. Kraft emphasized during his - somewhat famous - pre-SB speech how he considers Brady and BB as family. I am sorry but if he really means it then he would not care about potential fines.

@upstater1 This is about Brady. The Wells report exonerates Kraft and the coaching staff, but targets Brady almost exclusively. So this is Brady's reputation we're talking, not Kraft's. It's Brady's integrity that's being questioned. It's Brady legacy that's on the line. And ultimately, this his battle to fight.

As for Kraft squandering our trust and faith, I need you to be more specific. Because as long as I've been a fan, Kraft has been nothing short of a bulwark. I credit him with helping this franchise to thrive. He kept the franchise afloat and prevented the previous owner from uprooting it and relocating to another state. My goodness, he even personally funded the construction of Gillette Stadium out of his own pocket (after begging the state government to help). Doesn't that count for something?

I dunno....maybe there's something you older fans know that I don't? I am, after all, just 24 :)

I think you're missing the big picture. On TV and the radio, it's all about the Patriots constantly cheating.

Because Hernandez texted a friend about Kraft.

Circle the wagons and wait for the cavalry boys. Hopefully they show up and this thing blows up in Goodell's face.

Honestly it would probably happen. I remember there being people talking about Belichick knowing about Hernandez, "safe houses" etc... Obviously it was all nonsense but imagine if Ted Wells investigated it, BB would have been "generally aware" of the murders and Bob Kraft would have "more probably than not" helped Hernandez avoid failing drug tests...

I don't know if it's just my "sunny disposition", but all I can think of is fast forwarding a couple months to Ted Wells having HIS reputation ruined at the hands of Tom Brady and Don Yee. It would be righteous justice! :D

A contract works both ways and they should've been a lot more impartial in this than they were. That is blatantly apparent form all of this.

Ted Wells is a lawyer. He has no reputation that can be ruined

Thats the point people are making. By legally challenging goodell and thereby the rest of the owners he would be threatening the golden goose that is the nfl. the owners wouldn't want that, they want peace and prosparity and challenging goodell and the rest could cost them money.

The jealousy of Brady is unbelievable. My only worry is that this will take the fun out of football and he will retire sooner than he should

I think you're missing the big picture. On TV and the radio, it's all about the Patriots constantly cheating.

There's TONS of fallout in the media, and our star quarterback is being questioned like he's never been before. That not only damages his legacy (in the eyes of the public) but it tarnishes the Patriots' global brand.

This is a very delicate situation, and I can't imagine what Brady and his family are going through. :(

But Brady has to be the leader who takes charge...he has to understand that he has a dual responsibility - both to himself and to the organization. For the good the franchise, Brady should make this about himself only. HE should contest the charges. HE should stand up the the League. HE should come before the public and speak with integrity. And if he can, he should try to spare the Krafts and Belichick from having to deal with any further mudslinging. Their names have been cleared, their legacies are intact, and he should do everything he can to ensure that it remains that way.

For those of you who are hung up on Brady not submitting his cell phone records, don't forget that any text or call that Brady made with anyone else involved will show up in THEIR records. So there's really no significant missing evidence here.
