Comp picks?

I'm expecting #97. Talib was the highest APY qualifying FA loss last year. If we got a comp for Fletcher, which I don't think we'll get because of the re-signing of Blount, OTC's projection would have us landing #252 for him. Our Tenn pick would be #219.

As it stands now factoring in the OTC comp projections we're lookin at:
1-#32
2-#64
3-#96
3-#97 (Comp, Talib)
4-#101 (TB, Mankins trade)
4-#131
6-#173 (TB, Casillas trade)
7-#219 (Tenn, Ayers trade)
7-#252 (Comp, Fletcher)

I also expect a tampering ruling by Goodell soon after the comp picks are announced at next weeks annual meetings in Pheonix (22nd-25th). I'm predicting us and the Jets swap 4th rders (#104 for #131) based on prior tampering rulings. The Jets do not own a 5th or 6th rd pick and our 7th is higher than theirs.
Based on the 2014 draft I have us with the following picks:

#32 (own)
#64 (own)
#96 (own)
#97 (comp)
#102 (Bucs)
#132 (own)
#178 (Bucs)
#215 (comp)
#217 (Titans)

I said it before in another thread, if the Jets are found guilty of any tampering - which I doubt will happen unless there is tangible evidence - I can't see how the NFL could swap/award anything below what the compensatory pick for Revis would be (projected third round).

Well I'm almost certain we will get a comp pick for him next year which will be a 3rd. There are other examples of players with options who counted in the comp formula. Can't name them off the top of my head, but I believe that's the case. He wasn't cut.

That pick next year plus a swap is what I anticipate. Could be wrong but we'll find out soon.

We most certainly will get a compensatory pick next year. My point was that if there is enough evidence of tampering that is worthy of a punishment then I don't see how it could be for anything less than the level of the compensatory pick (i.e. swap of 3rds at least).

FYI, if the NFL keeps with its previous practice, they should announce the comp picks awarded for the upcoming draft next Monday (3/23).
