You are correct according to google Helu 4.42 and Vereen 4.5 I stand corrected.

Somebody else needs to go watch all of his targets from last year and tell me if I'm crazy for not being excited about his guy. Yes, he catches the ball well and did so 42 times last season, but I think the Redskins' offense manufactured some catches in ways that the Pats haven't typically done so much, in particular a ton of screens and a lot of leaking out of the backfield late enough that nobody bothers to cover him.

Yeah, he's being overrated in this thread, and this is coming from someone who likes him. Helu's a good addition of he comes as a cheap replacement, but he's a significant downgrade from Vereen as both a receiver (out of the backfield and a route runner) and as a pass blocker. For the role in this offense, that makes Vereen significantly better than Helu. Helu is a better runner, but that's not the primary job of the 3DRB.

5th best receiving back last year according to Football Outsiders DVOA (Vereen was 29th). Not enough carries to be ranked as a rusher, but if he qualified he would have been 5th in DVOA there as well. By their system, a big upgrade over Vereen, who is below replacement value.
