All-purpose Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning thread

you just said the same thing as me regarding adversity , only the longer version . don't forget pores o line etc

I don't think it's necessarily adversity as much as it's adaptability. Just because players are 'new', or conditions on the field are terrible, doesn't mean they're adverse conditions. The players may be all-world, and the field conditions are the same for both teams. What Brady has shown is maleability, adaptability, and that's served him well in the playoffs. Manning's passing attack and stadium have allowed him to accumulate monster numbers but I think they've also insulated him, and when he reaches the playoffs he's not nearly as ready for bad field conditions or having to adapt in-game as Brady is.

Not worth it. Peyton's irrelevant and his team is bad.

I get the Manning hate although I don't really agree with it, but this statement is flat out bizarre. I loved the way the Patriots put it to the Bronco's last night, it was a thing of beauty, but the idea that the Bronco's are a bad team and that Manning is irrelevant is ridiculous, the truth of the matter is that they are a very good team and will be the Patriots biggest obstacle in the way of winning another Lombardi. I thought that the Patriots beat the Bronco's in such a way that it really has to change the way people look at the next match-up as that beatdown went well beyond any home field advantage and showed that the Patriots are actually the better team at this point in time, despite having lost two of their best defenders and their best RB.

I absolutely consider Brady to be the better QB and his career and record against Manning demonstrate that beyond any doubt, but Manning is still a first ballot Hall of Famer and as far from "irrelevant" as they get.

Towards the end of his life Wilt said he had come to the conclusion thar Russell was better than he was.

Speaking of Philly players, Donovan McNabb says there is no discussion:

You know, McNabb gets a lot of hate in Philly but he is right about many things. He had mentioned that Foles was not a franchise QB yet and people blasted him. Now, all the talk in Philly is about Foles and how they need a better QB.

To me, the Brady -Manning thing is the same exact thing as the Montana - Marino argument. As with that argument, as time has proven, there is no argument.

I will also point out that on the list of QB stats, you never see Montana, but everyone would agree he was the best.

Denver Broncos would go 19-0 with Brady at QB. I rest my case.

Who's your daddy?

I don't know. I'd have to give the edge to Garoppolo and Belichick in Foxboro.

Manning was facing a Belichick/Patricia defense that was physical and did a great job disguising rush packages (see: Ninkovich interception.) Belichick could cook up something to mess with Brady.

Also, we saw nothing from the Broncos that was unexpected. John Fox and his coaching staff didn't distinguish themselves at all in this game. The only play that looked like good coaching, although it was probably Manning recognizing the coverage, was the TD to Julius Thomas when Chung, not Browner, was on him. The Broncos vaunted running game was nothing special.

The combination of Belichick and Brady is truly special. It is right there with Auerbach and Russell.

No, Yukon, this isn't JUST "worth the read", this is MUST read information for every Manning ball washing mediot, every Donkey fan, and EVERY other football fan who even considers Manning to be on the same level of Tom Brady.

The information from that article is SO conclusive its embarrassing to any Manning-ite. The sad thing is that its no shame to be 2nd to the GOAT. In some ways it sadly diminishes Manning's own HOF career., For Manning is truly a great QB...just not as good as TFB.

He was far from alone, i just passed the milk section at the grocery store and they had the names of our finest HATERS listed on the cartons as MISSING.

If anyone sees them please notify Ian, you may want to look at JI though, they are probably in mourning on their home sight.

Russel won and Wilt had the stats. But Russels teams won. Coaching game plan whatever. It was similar.

Manning has now lost to Brady 11 times, what more can one possible want?
