TOP 25
OL - Robinson, Matthews, Lewan, Martin, Kouanjio
WR: Watkins, Evans, Beckham, Cooks
QB: Manziel, Bortles, Bridgewater, Carr
TE: Ebron
DL: Clowney, Mack, Donald
LB: Mosley, Shazier, Barr
CB: Gilbert, Dennard, Fuller
S: Dix, Pryor

Clearly, there will be 3 more off the board, likely at CB, WR and or OT.

We will have lots of fine players available at 29-50. The question is who would someone want to trade up for, and at what price. Perhaps we can get a yet another 4th to move down a bit. And perhaps, we'll simply draft someone at 29. ASJ and Tuitt seems to be somewhat "obvious" choices.

It will be interesting to see how much of the talk of the QBs falling was smoke and mirrors. If all 4 were gone in the top ten I wouldn't be shocked. If there were still 3 on the board heading into the mid-20's ditto.

Yes, perhaps 3 quarterbacks will indeed be picked in the mid-20's. I just don't expect any of the top 4 to be on the board at 29.

There is just too much need at QB from teams that could easily trade up.
HOU, CLEVE, JAX, MINN will all have a quarterback if they can. And they all have the resources to get a quarterback in the 1st round.

And this doesn't even include TENN, TB and OAK, all of who are rumored to be in the QB race. And let's not forget the more wild rumors of STL and DAL.

I am going to predict that at least 3 players on that list are still available at 29. Always goes that way, and I will predict at least one of them falls past 45.

I do think late first round picks are worth more than in the past due to the option to extend the contract for a fifth year. Sure seemed to be the case with what we received from Minnesota last year. My wish would be for the Pats to trade back with their first and then trade up for 3 second round picks they really want. Throw in the comped 4th rounder and a 6th or 7th depending how the deals fall. Then be on the phone hard in free agency-I think running back and offensive line can be found there.

You cannot trade the comped 4th round pick by league rules

fair enough

I still it find it useful to have lists and boards.

I've been told NE is high on these three plus they are looking for an "intelligent" OL
Marqise Lee... WR... USC
Deone Bucannon...SS...Wash St
Jimmy Garoppola...QB...Eastern Illinois

When I heard the Mallet rumor had returned, I thought....Now the Pats could get all three. Now I think all 3 will be gone by 35

I totally agree. Three is just about the correct number.

I also think there may be only two qbs taken in the first round.

Wrote that poorly. Meant end up with 3 second round picks the Patriots value, plus our comped 4th and maybe a 6th or 7th total. I would prefer quality in our picks over quantity because I think the free agent class plus the picks that will be cut makes up for quantity of draft picks.

Yup. Bridgewater, Carr and Kouanjio were available at 29. We'll see if any last until 45.

Not a bad guess based on nothing more thsn the perception that this is common. (And the doubt 4 QBs would go)

It is obvious that the Patriots are not as interested in QBs as many believed because they had Bridgewater and Carr both on the board when they selected and picked neither.

Personally, I am not surprised I thought that the belief we were taking a QB in the first two days of the draft was far from likely.
