The New NFL Year is upon us,As part of the reflection upon what the new year may bring, I think it is important to pay respect to how much joy the Jets FLOP SHOW brings to the fans all across the NFL.

The Jets are to me as a football team what the National are to me as a rock band: In both cases, I keep thinking that they will be unable to follow up with an effort as entertaining as the last one, only for them to shatter my expectations.

The 11' season was great, because Jets fans entered it with such an absurd amount of arrogance, only for their hopes to get crushed, and be forced to witness the "nightmare scenario" play out in the Superbowl (arguably). The 12' season needs no mincing of words, it is simply a tour de force of suck.

As amusing as the 13' season of Jets suckitude was, however, I can't help but view it as a slight step down over 11' and 12'. For starters, they managed to pull off a win against us, even if it can be attributed to a really lame technicality. Furthermore, although Geno Smith does indeed suck, he can't quite measure up to the low standards set by Mark Sanchez, due to how Marky Mark sucks rather than the fact that he does. Geno Smith may be the David Fincher of sucking, but Sanchez is the Andrei Tarkovsky of the craft: He is simply one of the best we have ever seen at being awful.

But I digress, I hope that the 14' season is a best of both world's scenario that combines all the dashed hopes of the 11' and 13 season, with all of the hilarity of the 12' season.

Sadly, there is the theoretical possibility that we have already reached peak JEST suck. :(

Certainly, it will be very, very hard for them to top the trifecta of suck that included the Buttfumble. . . . but that won't stop them from trying. :)

As long as Sexxi Rexxi is their coach there will be no shortage of entertainment and suckage :rocker::rocker::rocker::rocker::rocker:

As was stated by a poster who's name escapes me in the 12 (or was it 13'?) incarnation of this thread, the Jets suckitude can be likened to the original trilogy of Star Wars.

11'= A New Hope: Took the world (IE: Patsfans) by storm, and dazzled us. Part of me will always view it as my favorite part of the trilogy.

12'= Empire: Probably the best one. The stakes (IE: laughs) skyrocket. Furthermore, both have a moment that define their respective franchises. For Star Wars, it is the "I am your father" twist. For the Jets, it is Sanchez's immortal butt fumble.

13'= Jedi: Still great, and has some real highlights on par with the last two. However, it is unable to live up to the standards of the preceding two.

Let's all hope that the 14' Jets don't disappoint us like the Phantom Menace did.

Finally ending inner struggle. Rt “@RavensInsider: Jets announce they've agreed to terms with the New York Jets”

I have to say it because I do every year:

The Jest suck and blow, both at the same time.

Is this it? The official thread? One of your pics is too wide! I can't like the OP!

I love how butt hurt Jets fans are over the Revis deal. Yes, the guy you traded away to a terrible team with a scumbag coach and hilariously garbage roster didn't feel loyal to your 'organization' afterwards. What a surprise.

I tried to Edit my post and delete the large image, but for some reason i dont see a edit option

Some gems from GG during the Revis meltdown:

Prick takes less money to go there, but wanted the kitchen sink from the Jets.
Dead.

Pats just got the best dback in the game on a 1 year contract. I'm jealous because I know how having that guy at corner feels and I'm ******* bitter as hell because I know he did it out of spite, but it is what it is.

You're a little late on that man, it's being discussed in the Revis thread. No worries though, we signed Decker:mad:

I'm working hard to rationalize and accept this one. It's not easy

he still has a physical correct? Let's say he fails that, does he go back to Tampa Bay?

and more importantly, do we get our third round pick back?

I honestly don't care that he's on the Patriots. What does bother me is that he took a 1 year deal. It's almost like if he just wanted to do it to go against what every Jet fan wanted. I'm sure that there was other teams offering him $12 million but he took the Patriots to **** on the Jets.

Like I said, doesn't bother me that he's on the team. There's only so much that he can do the two times we play him.

I'd share some Jets Insider ones but they're all so littered in vulgarities and exclamation points that I don't think you would be able to understand them.

Here's a great one from JetsNation. This is the Jets fan equivalent of a Manning face

Love the BB REVIS sig.

Here is another gem from JI

I wonder if we get fined for not spending enough of our cap money. You need to spend 89 percent and once sanchez is cut we have no one to sign and way too much cap room. All the guys left are all one and 2 yar minimal money guys. I wish we would lock up WILK

The funny thing is that they are spinning this as a desperation move and Belichick was panicking. Seriously?!? One of the best defensive players in the league (maybe ever) is laying at your lap and it is a position of need and it is desperation to snag him?

I mean they all think Denver is cleaning up in free agency and their moves are far more desperation moves because the window for Manning appears to be much smaller than Brady. They are on a Super Bowl or bust campaign because they will have spent $60 million on Manning by this season and no rings to show for it.

Re: The 2014 Edition: Jets continue to suck (what else is new)

It's beginning to appear that free agents don't want to become Green Beans. They had to overpay a No. 2/3 WR like Decker to sign on as their No. 1 (which actually makes sense for Decker since he'll be doing combat duty trying to catch balls from Gee-No! Choadboy).

The funny thing is they will likely overpay for Decker and James Jones to get them there and probably not take a WR in the first two or three rounds of a WR rich draft when they desperately need a stud WR. You can get away with a receiving corp with a bunch of #2 WRs with Brady, but not Geno Smith.

I'll have to check out the Joe B and Evan opening on the FAN when I get home this evening. :D
