I'm a draftnik and coming out I had Mallet billed as a poor man's Drew Bledsoe which was why I never thought Bill would draft him. It wasn't Tavon Wilson shocking but I did say are you F'ing kidding me outloud. I'm not surprised he didn't look great. Maybe we can finally put to bed the Ryan Mallet for some high draft pick speculation.
Wow there Cousin!
If you read the article they talked about is gangly look and physical thin appearance.
Mallett isn't my best of best, but please re-read this.
Despite his less-than-ideal build,
Mallett remains a talented thrower. His most impressive passes on the day, according to the source, were deep outs and go routes -- two of the more valued throws in today's NFL.
Your reporting like the Liberal media (or any media). What you want people to think your way, not the actual facts are how you portray it.
He has a better arm than all of the three kids and has a few NFL camps behind him. He was a better player to have O'Brien and McDaniels teaching him. He is only 25 and healthy. And now you want to nail him? Teddy B. has the same issue in gangly and frail looking, Manzeil has no where near the size or arm and Bortles you can say is just "O.K.". So why does that make any of them a better QB as the face of your franchise?
O.K. I am the Texans, Jags, Browns, Vikings or Raiders. The Browns missed with Weedon (weak arm and older than Mallett), The Jags missed with Gabbert (he is just scared. Mallett is not scared), Ponder from the Vikings? (Very short tape of one year, weak arm) and they Raiders? They just shotgunned to find a QB. The Texans have a coach who coached him.
If I am B.O. I have to go Clowney. Now I decide at the top of Round two, do I want Carr or Jimmy Garapolo in the second or take a shot with the more pro ready Mallett.
The Jags need O.L. desperately. A QB is a bad choice in Round 1 with some great OT's available.
The Vikes need D help and the Browns might wait and be in the 26th pick for a QB.
The Raiders need a QB but the talent rated ahead might be to tempting like a Kahlil.
I read the article. Where does it say he did not throw great? Where does it say he threw fastballs into the dirt? Where does it say he overthrew or underthrew? Maybe I missed something.
Kind of the same report that Tom Brady had before his Draft? Frail? Weak looking? Now add that Draft report Tom Brady threw crappy balls as in not a tight spiral.
Do I have my facts correct sir?
