Just wondering did you read it?

This was his quote

"Gonzalez also says that he’d be open to a possible return next season for the stretch run with a team that’s established itself as a championship contender."

So he wants to come back in December basically. Wants to skip the important parts.

thats exactly when we needed a te

Should have traded for him this season. Oh well. Falcons probably thought they would convince him to come back another season.

at 38 the wheels could fall off fast but he is Tony Gonzalez. lets say he comes in with no TC and picks up a new offense on the fly we are forgetting one big thing the falcons give him 7 million to come back the pats will not even come anywhere close to a contract that size for a 38 year old

Gronk will possibly miss the first 5 or 6 games again, we need a TE from week 1 if we want to guarantee the hfa.

No thanks, draft a TE and bring a veteran like Schandler. Also 1 year desperate trys doesn't fit.

I don't think you bring a guy who doesn't attend camp or pre-season into this team. First ballot HOF but not the right fit at this point, go fill TE in free agency and the draft.

Agreed. Let him ride off into the sunset.

agree 100% with this

If we can't upgrade at WR to compliment mini-tron then we could use a red-zone threat with great hands.

I agree with some of the posts that the recent attitude is troublesome

Definitely one of the few players I wish played a down for New England before he hung em up

It just went from 6 to midnight at supafly's house.

It's like I came home and Kate Upton was there waiting for me, weaing her "nun-kini," with a cold Guinness in her hand.

I was right there with you (so to speak) until the word 'cold' somehow mistakenly ended up in front of Guinness.

Gonzalez is a closet prima donna. I'm not saying he's always been like that, but right now he's all about himself. And what he said about Ryan was unnecessary. He's not a Patriots-type player.

I haven't been sold on his retirement for quite some time now, and we've seen a good atmosphere in Foxborough have positive effects on plenty of players in the past.

We're all longing for a physical receiving option, who's a savvy veteran, wants to play here, and would come affordable enough to warrant signing. Gonzalez fits the criteria.

Ha! I had a feeling someone would likely point that out.

I've been drinking it lately due to the fact that it doesn't bloat me like other beers typically do, but I can't seem to stomach it at room temperature like so many others can.

We can go with "cold Heineken" instead.

Hey, I'm just glad you've got a beer you can enjoy. Warm, cold, shooting out of a wind tunnel... whatever works for you. :rocker:

Gonzalez wants it his way and is not one at this stage of his career to go "all-in" for any team. He's already noted that he'd possibly make himself available if the Falcons are contending in November. That's a half-assed approach; he ain't hungry. Screw that nonsense. The Patriots need guys who are about TEAM from day one of training camp. I'd much rather see a promising rookie given the job. Gonzalez needs to retire and shut up.

Reminds me of brian waters...wants to play when he wants or when they are on a "run"
