Ok, Lets dig up negative facts on Peyton in the playoffs!

One of the things I love about Peyton losing is the playoffs is that it's followed by people pointing out a ton of stats and anecdotes about just how bad Peyton has been in the post season...

We need more of this. Now that he just lost the Super Bowl, I bet people are twittering this stuff; let's try to copy/post it in here.

Here's what I'm talking about: I copied and saved these various facts after Peyton lost in the playoffs last year (So alot of what's below are now outdated and possibly wrong) :

• Manning has more home playoff losses than any other starting quarterback in playoff history: five.
  
• Manning has a 1-8 record in playoff games that were one score games in the 4th quarter.
  
• Peyton's playoff record is 6-6 when his D gives up 21 or less in regulation. No other QB has more than 3 losses in that same senario.
  
• Manning has 38 regular season 4th quarter comebacks, most of any QB since 1998. But only 1 in the playoffs.
  
• Manning is the only SB winning QB to carry a losing record overall in post-season play. Jim McMahon is the next closest at 3-3.
  
• Manning is the only QB to throw more INTs than TDs in playoff run and still win the Super Bowl (3Tds and 7INTs in 2006 playoffs)
  
• Manning's QB rating during his 06 playoff run is the lowest of any SB winning QB
  
• Manning has had a top 10 scoring defense in 6 of his 12 playoff seasons

I just wasn't really in the mood of seriously kicking a donkey when he's down. Don't think stats are necessary today. Peyton's performance last night went a long way in starting the dance on the grave of that debate last night.

He didn't play well yesterday; but the rest of his team sucked too. Seattle just played the perfect game.

I bet if you look post 2005 (ie the end of the dominant patriots d), Brady's numbers may not be all that better than manning (Brady has had 3 home postseason losses, biggest favorite to lose the sb, etc). My hatred toward Manning has gone away the last few years -- he's a great qb; if we didn't have Brady I'd want Manning.

All this game has proven once more is great defenses can stop great offenses.

Just tells you how poorly the Patriots would have done. The Pats weren't even in the game against the Broncos...it probably would have been another Bears/Patriots Super Bowl. I never understood how people cheer another team for beating up someone who beat you up when you couldn't get the job done.

True, but when The Bronco's are breaking records and winning by 3+ tds in the regular season no one claims the team played great. Manning gets all the praise, and deservedly so. So he should get the same on the opposite end when he and the team play like crap. Just like Brady should when he plays like crap (his playoff loses to Balt come to mind).

There is no doubt Brady has taken a step back since his 3 SBs. You go 10-0 with 3 SBs in your first 10 playoff games you cant really go up. But in the end the fact remains that Brady has done it more then once, Manning hasn't. And Brady has done it when it mattered most (final drive vs. Rams, 4th qtr vs. panthers, entire game vs. Philly, late 4th qtr TD pass vs. vs Giants in SB42) while Manning has seemed to play at his worst.

when? 2 years ago AFCC against the Ravens...the Patriots weren't even in the game....embarrassing. Also, the Patriots were never in the game against the Broncos...don't kid yourself.

My bad, Pats lost by 35 to the Bronco's!!!!!!!

Did you forget the fact that if the Pats made the 2 point conversion the 4th it would have been a 1 possession game. AGAIN, the Bronco's controlled the entire game and completely outplayed the Pats. But the game was still in the air in the 4th.

No way the Pats get blown out 43-8 like Denver did. And, truth be told, if Den and Sea play 10 more times, almost certainly Denver doesn't get dusted like that. I mean, Seattle probably wins most of the matchups, because they're better, and maybe some are a little lopsided, but 43-8 is a perfect storm, an absolute avalanche that hardly ever happens between good teams. 35 point margin is HUGE.

Think about it: 4 Bronco turnovers, a bad snap (when does THAT ever happen to Manning?), a pick-six (uh, ok, THAT does), a KO return for a TD… I mean, all that happened in the same game. The odds of all that happening again are miniscule.

NE would have a puncher's chance against Seattle. Don't forget they lost by just one point to the Seahawks IN SEATTLE last year. Different teams, I know, and so Seattle would rightfully be a big favorite over NE, and would most likely win the game, with the possibility of it being one-sided. But 43-8? 35 point spread? Highly, highly unlikely.

Ugh, I know, right? You'd think fans on this board would love to dig up some ugly stats on Peyton in the playoffs (and I know they're out there, too. I already posted some I've heard just recently!).

But somehow this turns into a Brady vs Manning convo? Ugh.
