Here's how I feel about Manning leaving..if that is indeed the case...

He is top 5 of all time.

Brady
Montana
Starr
Baugh
Unitas
Graham
Young
Staubach

There's your top 8.

Manning falls in the 9-15 range.

Nope. That might be YOUR top eight, but you are not correct.

Take this response of yours and apply it to your Manning claim: "Nope. He might be in YOUR top five, but you are not correct."

We're at an impasse and I've got to be up in 4 hours. Goodnight.

1. Brady
2. Montana
3. Unitas
4. Elway
5. Manning
6. Marino
7. Favre
8. Staubach

put Manning wherever you want to on your all important "lists"....HERE is the number one Manning retirement anniversary card I will be sending him the rest of his days...from his owner/operator....

I was reading a Yahoo sports article and yes you are correct about that. But still I think it is pathetic for Pats fans to smack talk Manning like he sucks or is a mass choker. Yeah his post season fortunes have not smiled upon him much (be it his fault or others) but he is an all time great and a classy guy. Disparage him if it makes you feel better. I am just grateful to witness an era when two of the greatest of all time (both team players) get to have probably their final showdown.

No one questions his ability and QB greatness. But why is it that every time he wins a game everyone wants to crown him the greatest ever.? Why is that when he throws 4-5 TDs a game he is the coach on thefield who calls his own plays and so and so but when he loses in the playoffs its because his coach got conservative (john fox last yr) or his defense let him down or his offensive line let him down or his WR dropped a pass or ran a wrong route on a pick six. Its never his fault and the irony of it is that the media keeps saying it , then keeps questioning his legacy and then ask a poll if "he is the greatest ever".
I dislike him and his family for all the media manipulation and stories they create. Even here its mort who is reporting this who is as close to manning as anyone else. He is in manning's inner circle. So this news is coming out because manning wants it out. Its not a sources of sources info like other crap the espn guys spew.

How the heck could his neck be at any more risk next season than it was at the start of this season? I smell BS.

I was watching highlights on NFLN the day after the second Broncos-Chiefs game. They showed Manning's early interception and one of the crew said "well, that's OK, all quarterbacks throw interceptions now and then." Well, yeah, true. But I've never actually heard that excuse during a game recap before. Only for PM. A small thing, but just the tip of the strident lovefest iceberg.

I think a NFL without Manning, for me, is not as desirable.

5th...9th....14th.....3rd....21st...what does any of that even mean?

He is a very good qb.

Let's just leave it at that.

His window IS closing as is the window for TFB, the new kids are here.

So let's just all chill out, make yourself a Cake batter Supreme, and enjoys what time we have left of these two future HOF'ers...

Of course this conveniently came out just after Manning moved on to the AFC Championship.

If the neck surgery was a result of a degenerative condition then this could be a story, but if he had the surgery because of a traumatic injury then his neck should be fine because it would be stronger where it was operated on than it was before the injury. And i am not a doctor but i did have the same surgery, so unless he did something to damage his neck he should be good to go.

If Manning and Brady don't retire in the same season I wonder if the NFL will waive the waiting period to bring them in together. Probably not but seeing how linked they are there's merit to it.

If Manning were smart he would have Bill do his induction speech. It will probably be his dad or Dungy but really there could be nobody better than Bill. He's faced him more times than any defensive guru out there. The history of the game is important to both Bill and Peyton. Bill when talking about players is very well spoken and would do an amazing presentation.

I'd be surprised if Bill doesn't do Tom's induction. Who does Bill's will be interesting. Ernie Adams, LMAO.

So in other words the Manning camp called up Chris Mortensen and dropped this story in his lap so the mediots can play the "win for the Gipper" card during these playoffs.

Peyton Manning, the new Brett Favre...

LOL, let's get Giselle to call Mortensen and say Brady's knee has been giving him trouble, and she's going to make him retire as soon as he wins one more...

one thing is for certain, the year after manning retires we will get a new spacejam movie but with football instead of basket ball

At least those in the media have now readied an excuse as to why it's not PM's fault if the Donks crumble this week. "You see, if only he was at full strength..."
