This isn't meant to be a knock on Dion Jordan or those who liked him but as of right now, where's the better value, trading up for Dion Jordan or trading down for Jamie Collins? Good job BB.

And over/under on Jamie Collins offensive TDs in his career? Providing his ball handling is good enough, I want to see that athleticism on goalline plays at some stage in his career.

After his nice snag today, who else wants to see Collins line up at tight end? :)

that sig enrages some so called Pats fans here so much they refuse to post on a day like yesterday or today when Pats fans from all over the world log in and express their love for their team.

THAT is the proof that we are infested with egotistical, know-it-all trolls who only post here to push their Patriot HATING agendas.

I remember saying that it would be a good idea after Gronk got hurt. BUT let him excel in the defense for a few years first.

I admit while watching the draft, when they called out "Jamie Collins" I said , who ? WTF ? Because I was thinking WR at that moment. BUT then they showed his highlights, and my eyes got big, I was thinking, holy smokes, what have we here ? Then they mentioned his measurables and I was very intrigued by the total package. Looked up some further stuff on YouTube, and there was this incredible dunk in a pickup basketball game that I posted on his draft thread. Then I had found this pick of him blocking a kick when he played safety, where it looks like he's standing on a player, he got so much hops.

I was very excited about the pick, but wasn't excited how the Pats used him initially. The combo of the injuries to others and him "getting it", I'm guessing led to his breakout game.

Some stats blew me away yesterday, all 3 sacks were by rookies, and all 4 INTs were by rookies or 2nd year men. That really bodes well for the future of our D. I thought Hightower had a good game as well. Very excited to see what this D can do when fully healthy.

Is it me or did his play/presence make Hightower finally play like a 1st rounder? I thought he had a very good game as well. Spikes who? That trio of Mayo, Hightower and Collins will be so nasty next year!

Also I didn't realize the Pats were the 2nd youngest team in the league??!?!

WOW!

I was just about to say this. Start with the goal line package and go from there.

He took a pretty good hit — and came to an abrupt stop — at the end of that INT run. I gasped a bit dreading a fumble but Collins held on. Good sign.

Wish I'd posted it here, but in an (hour long) conversation with my brother about the game today, I said Collins was going to be the breakout star of the playoffs with Spikes out. He is the best coverage linebacker they have had since Roman Phifer, and he is a physical freak.

He and Logan Ryan are very exciting rookies in my estimation. There is some very good young talent that is still on the roster and not on IR. Chandler, Hightower, Collins, Ryan, Dennard, McCourty....it's their defense right now.

i was talking with some friends on FB about the game lat night....i said Collins was going to be the key to this playoff run

2 hours later, it looked like i actually knew what i was talking about

kid looked good.....his ability to drop into coverage i going to be key next week

I'd like to see him in on PAT/FG blocks, he has an insane vertical so having him stood off the LOS, giving him a bit of a run up into his jump could cause some blocks, or at least force the kicker to push the ball wide to avoid him.

WOW!

Absolutely. Collins' progress lets Hightower play his own game, and he does it well.

and yeah, that second youngest team in the league — part of me is skeptical it's true (ie does it count the IR'ed guys) but, still, this is a young and upcoming team (that just happens to be going to its third straight AFCCG).

Well, it's a forgone conclusion (could be wrong) that Spikes will be playing, elsewhere.

When Mayo comes back, my guess is that Collins take Fletchers' place (who took Spikes' place)...

Who do you think collins is comparable to? He looks like patrick willis with the athleticism of a faster urlacher.

Collins may be the best linebacker the pats have ever had

As an aside: The way things are going, the number of people on this board saying they predicted a big game for Collins will soon outnumber the people who say they were at Woodstock.

And I include myself in the former. ;)

It's been nice watching this guy develop. Hope we see a lot more of it.

Just found this pass rusher study which places Jamie Collins in some pretty heady company as far as speed rush potential goes (the first table). I wish there was more detail though.

Clearly has push rushing skills but also unreal coverage skills. Now we can cover both a big WR and a receiving TE...you know, should we happen to face any teams like that....

It definitely helps, especially in Bronco's hurry-up offense, where you cannot substitute players. So, any play-action does not get exposed due to Spikes being only a run-stuffer.

Collins is like a perfect version of bandon spikes :rocker:
He can do everything spikes can't including leap buildings in a single bound
