I'm still not convinced he had possession when the ball first crossed the goal line, but will accede to the wisdom of the review process.

That would have truly s*cked if it had gone the other way. Touchback for the Bills, right?

Breath, by the way, before the spellcheckers come out.

no, One of the bills players kicked it out of bounds that means its a safety i think.

Thought his knee might have been down, myself.

Yep, I was holding my breath... for some reason, my thoughts flashed to Champ Bailey and Ben Watson.

I, too, was thinking fumble into the endzone, but even still I was liking our chances of victory even if it had been ruled in that direction.

I was sort of hoping he'd be ruled down, actually...could have taken a knee at that point. After the TD, the Bills could have done the TD/onside kick/TD thing.

I understand the odds of that are a bazillion to one, but you know.

He wasn't touched until after the ball was out so the knee being down wouldn't have mattered. CBS never showed a replay that definitely showed he had possession after breaking the goal line so I was nervous.

I believe the ref said the call was confirmed by replay, so that's ironclad. It looked to me on replay that the nose of the ball barely touched the goal line just before he lost control of it. I understand what Blount was doing but it was a bit sloppy on his part.

I was holding my breath because CBS didn't show the replay again. But I watched it and he was in. The nose of the ball was on the line before the ball came out. The best view to tell is actually the original view they showed live. And then the 2nd view from the endzone confirms he only lost the ball after he hit the ground.

I can't tell but I believe Ivan Fears? was giving him a mouthful about something. I don't think he was praising him but I could be wrong.

It would have been a touchback even though the bills guy kicked the ball since it looked incidental.

I loved how they played the Ludacris Move ***** (get out the way) song after he scored the touchdown.

Some nice pics from Boston Globe on Twitter:

Would have sucked if it was overturned but thank god the initial call was TD. Always makes it easier because of the stiffer standard for overturning.

is this the teeth gnashing CL thread of the day?..do any of you EVER leave a game happy about anything? newsflash, Bawk Brigade #9..the ground cannot cause a fumble...DUR. Replay confirmed the TD but don't let that stop you panty twisted pessimists from injecting as much fabricated hysteria as possible following another win.

That's right.

Blount?

Holding your breath?

What was the question again? Nevermind.

Yikes Joker. The post is about the time we all spent waiting for the review announcement, without a decent replay view. It wasn't clear that he had the ball under control all the way to the ground. And the replay was given its due as the final decision point.

Try the decaf.

I thought it was a TD while watching.

But sorry, the ground can cause a fumble if not down by contact (prior to crossing the goal line)

Freakin' hilarious, man!

Were I holding my breath I'd be 24 hours dead by now

Yeah I was very nervous. The angles they showed on TV didn't seem to look definite, at least from what I saw. That would have been horrible for it to have gone as a touch back mostly because it was such a great effort by Blount and I wasn't convinced our defense would hold up.
