Just wondering what it's going to take to fix this 3rd down defense? Just hasn't been very good all year. I guess having healthy players would be a good start.

Missing OBVIOUS flags is going to result in long drives. As is missing makeable tackles :bricks:

The offense needs to take some time to help this D rest...they must be tired after that long drive and chasing Newton around the field.

Is Talib not a good match up against shifty/small/crafty receivers? Would Dennard have done better?

Yes, Dennard would have done better. This isn't the first time that Talib has struggled with a smaller, shifty receiver. He's a bigger corner who excels against big guys. I'm sure that Dennard would have drawn the assignment on Smith had he been available for this game.

are you even watching? they rushed 3, one peeled off to cover the flat, that leaves two. no D in the league gets pressure with two.

of course, that leaves 8 to cover, so they should have stopped that though McCourty was close

The clock is a huge issue. The Panthers are registering long clock killing drives.

Some of you might not realize it but the pats haven't stopped te panthers since the first drive. Not including the half ass attempt at the end of the half.
