The Falcons D is terrible. Making the Jets look competent is a very difficult thing to do, but somehow the Falcons have done that in spades.

Yes, I meant as of now. But unlike the pats , i dont their defense has improved this yr in spite of being a problem in the past yrs. The injuries havent helped but dont know if it would be enough to beat out NO or even an improved pathers at this time. They have to hope 2 of the 3 AFC North contenders crash else they have shot.

I absolutely agree that the defense has taken a step back. Not having Grimes, and not having a pass rush, has made the team weaker against the pass. I just think that a healthy offense would have been able to overcome some of that.

Maybe .But Iam not totally sold on that offense. Not a whole lot of variations and movements and they will struggle vs good defenses .We saw vs the pats, their playcalling was suspect. And I still dont think mike smith is a good coach.

The Jets defense is for real, and the Falcons are a team that doesn't like to play particularly physical ball, so the Jets having the lead this early is not a good sign. Ryan's good, though, so hopefully he can rally that team.

Well, they have nothng to lose especially ryan. he knows his job is most likely gone so he is going to pull out all the stops. Mike smith might be the worser of the two coaches on the field tonite.

SVN, I agree that a new GM usually wants to install his own handpicked coach, but don't underestimate Woody Johnson's fondness for Ryan.

And, you do know that Ryan does have a winning record as a HC? My 34-10 Falcon pick's not looking good but it's still early. Very early. Ryan will get rolling against that suspect secondary.

Sure. an 8-8 season might help rex keep his job and so far he has done well considering all the projections before the season . A 5-11 season may not help him.
