Goldson could be suspended.
Report: Dashon Goldson could face suspension for helmet-to-helmet hit - CBSSports.com
I doubt the Tzar will suspend him for a Patriots game but that would be a big boost for the offense.
Graham had a monster week vs the Bucs so it would be a big boost if Gronk can go. I'd still rather error on the side of caution and they'll really need him vs ATL the following week. I know Sudfeld looked bad against the Bills but word was if the game was Sunday and not Thursday he would have played vs the Jets. He could be a factor if Gronk can't go.
Given that Edelman is the number one threat if Gronk still isn't ready to go I wonder if the Bucs will throw Revis on him or if they'll put him on Thompkins. I tend to think they'll bracket Edelman and give Revis Thompkins. That pretty much means the top two options are going to have a really tough time getting open.
The O-Line has to be better in the run game this week so the Pats can effectively use play action and keep the pressure off of the young receivers. The Bucs has a pretty athletic line even if they did look bad vs the Pats in the preseason. The Pats hurry up has really bothered the Bucs the last two pre-seasons but right now that weapon hasn't been what it was the past few years. Hopefully having the extra time this week they work on it and use it as a weapon this week.
I think the Bucs will blitz the Patriots up the middle in spots to try and mess up the already suspect timing of the Patriots offense. Both David and Barron had had success already this year in spots.
On defense the top priority is stop Martin. I hope big Vince was able to heal up if Bedard is right because this is a week they really need him. Watching Vlad push him around last week was a serious trip to the bizarro world. Both Jones and Nink are going to be called on to set a solid edge at the expense of the pass rush. If Spikes doesn't get more reps this week they're phasing him out.
I really like the matchups of Talib on VJ and Dennard on Williams for the Pats this week and it should be a good warm-up for them with what they'll face next week in Atlanta.
