Early look ahead: Bucs at Patriots, week 3

Because the PATS are beating themselves these days.

You do realize that was a long time ago right? These days?

So you like to be reminded of that every time you post? yeah you're not a true pats fan...easy to tell

I wouldn't be shocked to see Freeman benched in favor of Glennon..Schiano is also on the hot seat.

Don't know why you say that. Been a PATS fan all my life. I rather learn from mistakes, that's how I cope with such horrifying losses. I like to think the PATS know what their mistakes are, and are learning from them.

Like for instance Week 1 they turned the ball over 3 times. The issue was ball control, and in Week 2 (albeit a short week between) they had no turnovers.

Week 2 they had big time WR issues. Probably more than one. But they've got a long week before playing Tampa. And I expect them to win, and I'll be rooting for them.

I sure hope you share the same optimism as I do.

The Bucs D looks downright nasty against the Saints. Next week is going to be interesting.

we're their superbowl. Patriots are very respected. Im sure you will be also… and I expect the same stupid penalties from TB.

they look better vs the saints then the jets game

Lucky for us they have freeman

The Saints O has more chemistry than the current Patriots O. Respect or not, the defensive performance from the Bucs has been damn impressive. I haven't seen Brees this confused in some time.

Divisional games are sometimes very close no matter how good/bad the teams are as they know each other so well

I do think TB is going to take the PATS more seriously than they did against the Jets. I think its going to come down to who's defense is better.

I like the PATS' odds, D looks great so far this year. And they have Freeman to work against.

freeman is 9/22 and the bucs have 118 yards in penalties and they blew yet another game....wow

Well I think our OL's are pretty similar. I dont see BB not doing what doesnt work. We had to get in our pass happy element to win this game, which we should have been doing the entire game. SP is stuck on a balenced offence, and running ingram. ingram killed most of our drives.
I think you can short pass on this team all day, and take penalites as they get frustrated, their coaching is horrible.
I havent seen Brees play well for 2 games, probably play calling.
Bucs defence has always been a problem for Brees, he has a problem with tampa 2.
Its hard to figure out some games.
But I really think wasting possessions on some players decide some games. Ingram has hurt us alot. 9 useless plays vs atlanta and now 8 vs bucs, and these are 3rd important downs. I dont see BB making that mistake.

Fully expect to see more than a few

Nink-Wilfork/Kelly-Jones-Buchanan shifts during the game.

lots of talent at DB they held the saints to 16 points Speaking of the saints they look pretty good this year, if the pats go into this game again with just the rookies they will have a hard time scoring 14 again and the defense will have to win it for them again it should be a fun game...GO PATS

Bucs Safety Dashon Goldson Facing Suspension?

After picking up his 15th personal foul penalty since 2010 the league are finally considering suspending Safety Dashon Goldson, per Adam Schefter.

As it states though, if they grant him an appeal he will play on Sunday.

But, Tampa are a very dirty, late hitting, head hunting team and have already picked up numerous 15 yarders this season already which is both good and bad for the Patriots - good in the sense of free yards, bad of course in terms of potential injury.

Goldson could be suspended.

I doubt the Tzar will suspend him for a Patriots game but that would be a big boost for the offense.

Graham had a monster week vs the Bucs so it would be a big boost if Gronk can go. I'd still rather error on the side of caution and they'll really need him vs ATL the following week. I know Sudfeld looked bad against the Bills but word was if the game was Sunday and not Thursday he would have played vs the Jets. He could be a factor if Gronk can't go.

Given that Edelman is the number one threat if Gronk still isn't ready to go I wonder if the Bucs will throw Revis on him or if they'll put him on Thompkins. I tend to think they'll bracket Edelman and give Revis Thompkins. That pretty much means the top two options are going to have a really tough time getting open.

The O-Line has to be better in the run game this week so the Pats can effectively use play action and keep the pressure off of the young receivers. The Bucs has a pretty athletic line even if they did look bad vs the Pats in the preseason. The Pats hurry up has really bothered the Bucs the last two pre-seasons but right now that weapon hasn't been what it was the past few years. Hopefully having the extra time this week they work on it and use it as a weapon this week.

I think the Bucs will blitz the Patriots up the middle in spots to try and mess up the already suspect timing of the Patriots offense. Both David and Barron had had success already this year in spots.

On defense the top priority is stop Martin. I hope big Vince was able to heal up if Bedard is right because this is a week they really need him. Watching Vlad push him around last week was a serious trip to the bizarro world. Both Jones and Nink are going to be called on to set a solid edge at the expense of the pass rush. If Spikes doesn't get more reps this week they're phasing him out.

I really like the matchups of Talib on VJ and Dennard on Williams for the Pats this week and it should be a good warm-up for them with what they'll face next week in Atlanta.

Re: Bucs @ Pats week 3

Odds are that he will appeal it which probably means he will get to play this weekend. The league doesn't usually pass out penalties until Thursday and unless he gets a speedy appeal, he will not be suspended until next week at the earliest.

EDIT: I did just read the article and it looks he will be suspended within the next 24 hours if suspended, but I don't know if the league will hear the appeal before this weekend.

Re: Bucs @ Pats week 3

Bucs lost too tough ones nobody wants to go 0-3 Hope the Patriots esp Brady and young WR's iron out things some. Island Revis will Shut one of our WR's down. This might be another tough week for our WR's, what's the story on Zack Sudfeld? We can't be still getting Next To NOTHING at our TE position it makes our Offense predictable. One positive Bucs QB Josh Freeman
is not setting the world on Fire you would think with an Elite WR and RB he would get it right. I think we are getting their A Game Sunday...which means we have to fire on all cylinders. I will stress better play from the TE positiom would help some, we need Zack Sudfeld to suit up.

one line i saw is Pats favored by 9. way too high. expect another grind it out close game

I wouldn't say so. I got a good look at that game yesterday (they were being shown on the big screen next to the one showing Giants/Broncos) and if their defense plays us like they did the Saints last week and if our WR's still can't catch the damn ball, they will shut our offense out.

If Gronk can go this week, the Pats need to play him. Limit his snaps, let him get hit, and let him knock off the rust. He'll be better off for it vs. Atlanta.
