When listening to the dismissive, condescending "Tebow can't play in this league" commentary from Scott Zolak my curiosity was peaked regarding Zolak's NFL numbers vs. Tebow.

It ain't pretty...for Scott.

If Zolak is so dismissive of Tebow poor Scott must be harboring some major self loathing about himself.

Zolak - 55 games - 248 att - 124 comp - 8 TD/7 INT - avg 4.5 yds per throw - career passer rating 64.8

Tebow - 35 games - 361 att - 173 comp - 17 TD/9 INT - avg 10.3 yds per throw - career passer rating 75.3

Tebow also has 12 rushing TD's

Poor Zo!

Have to admit, this is pretty funny. I have resigned myself to the fact that Tebow is probably making the team as the 3rd string QB. Hopefully once the season starts he'll be relegated to the back seat of relevancy where he belongs.

Drew Bledsoe's career passer rating as a Patriot: 75.9. Therefore, Tebow = Bledsoe? I don't think so.

Can't compare numbers from totally different eras and different roles like that..

Also not sure where you got 10.3 yards per throw, Tebow throws at 6.7 yards per pass attempt....

Zolak was a backup to Bledsoe most of his career, you can't really compare the two when Zo's #'s came in mop up time.

Tim Tebow's "great performance" came on ZERO Drives and 2 TD performance. He never moved the team at all. His scores came on a play where the defender fell down, and the second game on the "Son Of Pisarchick" play, threatening to snatch defeat from a sure victory. All for an absolutely un-neccessary score.

Marquis Cole underlined whay he is a terrible survivor of the CB wars. Beaten incessantly, he still made 6 tackles. But they came long after the runnning back had made 5 yards; or his receiver caught the ball.

Can we all just agree that Zolak was ******* horrible and move on?

I'm not as good as Tebow and I think he sucks.

Awesome work. Between hyperventilating Zo and fathead know-it-all Grech.......it's a tough listen. My biggest complaint on that show is they talk over each other...and when that starts...I flip the channel. And those Sunday game day shows with the talking heads...once they start talking over each other....good bye. I usually last 3 minutes.

Johnny Unitas' career passer rating was 78.2... clearly Tebow is almost as good as one of the greatest of all time!

Look, I'm not saying that Tebow couldn't be as crappy and irrelevant as any 3rd string QB in the league. The question is: Does having a crappy, irrelevant 3rd string QB warrant cutting someone at a position that might actually be able to contribute something this year?

Nah, your example only works if Bledsoe is running around pontificating how Tim Tebow doesn't belong in the NFL.
Haven't heard that from Bledy but if I do then I'll be back to make fun of him also.

BTW I challenged Gresh and Zo (via a text to 69985) after listening to one of their condescending Tebow rants this past week. Challenged them to "enlighten" their audience on Zo's NFL numbers vs. Tebow. Got a response back from Gresh defending his boy and telling me how Zo lasted 10 years in the league and Tebow never would. I told Gresh the only thing the 10 years proves is Zo kisses NFL coaching bum and rides a good clipboard.

Tebow doesn't average 10.3 per throw.
Scott Zolak couldn't play in the NFL either.

Ah, I see.

Guess Joe Namath (68 passer rating) shouldn't talk about anybody strug-a-ling

This thread is not a debate about Tebow's abilities to play in the NFL.
This is strictly a Let's make fun of a pompous blowhard in the media who played a worse NFL QB *BY EVERY STATISTICAL MEASURE* than Tim Tebow as he decries Tebow's presence on the Patriot roster exercise.
Done for fun.

different era and different playing conditions.

Right you are. My bad. I copied from the wrong column on both players.

Zolak - avg pass yds 5.3

Tebow - avg pass yds 6.7
