New story from ABC News, saying home surveillance equipment at Hernandez's home and a phone were destroyed and he hired cleaners to scrub down his home ...

Aaron Hernandez Destroyed Home Security System and Phone, Sources Tell ABC News - ABC News

How long before the report that says this is not true....or the police dropped it on the way out the door or some other BS contradicting this report.

The media is falling all over themselves to report anything seemingly without any attempt to substantiate what they are reporting....just to be the first one to get the scoop.....That didn't work out so well for Tomase....

Well it's looking obvious now.

Ahern is a reall REAL dirtbag.

Idiot had everything going for him. what a doofus.

There it is. I've been waiting on that one. . I was gonna throw that out there yesterday, but the thread was getting rediculous with the "you should sing like a bird" comments.

Damn and here I was thinking I was being original....

If Aaron did destroy the video surveillance, that will lead to an obstruction of justice charge.

That would ONLY apply if it was smashed after LE was seeking it via a court order /warrant.

If the latest news is true, Hernandez is probably going to be in a lot of trouble no matter if he is involved in the murder or not. He will likely get an accessory charge.

An interesting tidbit is that Lloyd's girlfriend hasn't been seen recently either.. Could it just have been a domestic spat gone bad?

As for the security system, I'm sure the police would have seen whether it was "intentionally destroyed" during either of their first two searches. And, regardless, if it has a hard drive, unless a high powered magnet was wiped over it, the data can still be retrieved.

As for the cell phone, more speculative drama. Again, unless a magnet was taken to it, destroying it doesn't do much. they can take the memory modules out and put it in an identical phone. Not to mention that they can contact the carrier regarding all incoming and outgoing texts and calls.

The most logical conclusion given all of this information—phone and security system destroyed, cleaning crew at the house—is that someone was trying to hide something.

It's possible Hernandez is trying to help his homies, so to speak, but he certainly didn't do himself any favors.

Obviously knocking out the surveillance camera and destroying the cell phone are incriminating, but there are a number of nuggets in the report that are just as interesting:

Lloyd was killed early monday morning. Hernandez was seen with the victim Friday night/Saturday.

According to police sources, Hernandez is not a suspect but not yet in the clear.

the victim's girlfriend (Hernandez' girlfriend's sister) was not located until yesterday and police feared for her safety.

I think there is still alot more to this story.

I must admit, I am finding this last report very damning. I've been flying the flags of "wait and see how it plays out", but this looks really bad, if it didn't already look bad enough.

That would ONLY apply if it was smashed after LE was seeking it via a court order /warrant.

If I understand correctly, it's obstruction in that case, but if he did it before, he could still be charged as an accessory after-the-fact for trying to cover up the crime.

Depending on the timeline, it's possible Hernandez destroyed the surveillance for other reasons, realizing the cops were going to search his house, and not wanting some other fact about him revealed (drugs?) during the investigation - thus making him the equivalent of the initial suspect in the first act of every Law & Order episode ever made.
Please tell us you're joking. He's innocent but is doing everything he can to obstruct a murder investigation because he doesn't want the cops to see him with that bong he bought at Ye Olde Head Shop last week?

I knew someone was going to say that. That is wrong on so many levels that I am just going to leave it at that.

How long before you embrace the reality that Hernandez is simply not the unluckiest guy in the world and likely had some type of involvement or knowledge regarding a person who was shot to death?

If it was smashed before the incident or by someone not Hernandez, then it won't be obstruction on Hernandez's part.

As for the "cleaning crew" that came in on Monday, We have no idea if it was Hernandez or his GF who did the hiring. With a house that big, she could have done it because of the mess Ahern's friends made and wanted it cleaned since she has her hands full with the baby..

My anonymous sources told me that Mark Sanchez saw a picture of somebody's butt on Hernandez' cell phone causing Sanchez to instinctively slam into it with his head, fumbling the ball which Steve Gregory returned for a touchdown.

Why aren't the police looking for Mark Sanchez?

I agree, I was talking legally not morally. AH will rightfully be residing in an 8X10 apartment in Walpole if he did kill this man.

Edit: I will also backtrack on the "after" observation is it indeed could be an element of accessory after the fact- I am not a DA.

While I sympathize with your general principle, innocent until proven guilty is in regards to the legal system, not the opinions of private citizens.

O.J. did it.

Yet it is private citizens that sit in jury boxes....

And I agree OJ did it but I'm really not seeing the relevance here to OJ.....OJ ran, had a trial where the facts from the police investigation were brought in front of a jury and the nation....Right now all we have is a ton of media reports speculating and reporting whatever bone they are thrown.

Again, I'm not seeing the comparison at this point.

To be fair a star TE with a huge contract and a huge house isn't going to be spending his off time cleaning his own home, and that goes for his wife as well.

Pretty much everyone in that situation will hire others to take care of that stuff. I can guarantee he doesn't mow his own lawn or trim his own hedges either. Hiring house cleanings by itself isn't a red flag

I've made my stance pretty clear, but the cleaning crew would be the easiest thing to dismiss. He could have maids come in every Monday, no biggie, it sounds ominous in context but could be benign.

Destroying home security on the other hand not so easy to explain.
