Anybody else here miss the "Summer of Gronk" kerfuffle?

Good times. Good Times!

This about sums it up.

Besides, it's really hard to imagine that if he did cap the poor guy.........AHern would leave the car and victim less than one mile from his house.

or........he was placed being around a guy he knows.................

One would think a typical gangbanger would be much more proficient in these matters.

I think fans are just preparing themselves for the worst.

Interesting method of preparation.

If the crime scene had been discovered miles away....there would be more reason for agreement.

Who could ever have guessed being seen without someone you see would be that explosive.

I know I sure am and why not? Everything that has come out about this has only made the situation worse. Sure, it could all be wrong and we'll find out Hernandez was actually volunteering at a local soup kitchen after he rescued a bunch of puppies from a burning building while all of this was going on completely unbeknownst to him but I doubt it.

I see nothing wrong with preparing for the worst but then if it somehow all works out being pleasantly surprised. The alternative is spinning best case scenarios and getting a kick in the gut. I like my way better.

Like many, I'm waiting for the real facts before drawing any conclusions. Things don't look good, but either you believe in "Innocent until proven guilty" or you don't. You don't get to cherry pick which situations you apply the philosophy to.

And the reason you believe in innocent until proven guilty is not because you want or need to be ultimately right about the situation, but because it's the right thing to do.

One question, why are the usual suspects of doom and gloomers who disapear during good times magically appearing again on this news? I won't point out specific posters, but I count at least three posters who only show up after losses or post on game threads every time the Pats don't look good posting in this and other Hernandez related threads.

Do you guys just sit by your computer waiting for stuff like this so you can come on her and sell your doom and gloom crap?

Ughh this situation sucks.. To make it even worse I just bought my girlfriend a Hernandez jersey that she was asking for. :bricks:

I am shocked by the jumping to conclusions in this thread. The only thing 99.9% of us know is what's reported, and we have no idea if it's accurate or not. So we've got him guilty, convicted, in jail, and the season down the drain. It's freakin' June 20th, the doldrums of the off season. Relax, see how this plays out, and then commence with the hand wringing when they go 7-9. Geezus, relax! I know it's less than ideal, and looks bad, but it's still unfolding.

Things look bad right now, but they looked bad for Julian a little while ago as well. I'm just going to wait and see before I pass judgement. Reading all of these twitter updates, etc, is really bumming me out for a variety of reasons - not the least of which is feeling bad for the family of the dead kid.

I think I'm going to do what any normal and rational person would do: I'm going to wait until all the facts come out and charges are filed before I flip out. The story doesn't sound good, I'll give you that. But this wouldn't be the first time that a major story, such as this one, was misreported.

Yup. He will be in jail for a few years at least if he was involved

Having seen something quite similar to this 13 years ago, I couldn't agree more. So far, there doesn't seem to be a prosecutor in a hurry to make a name for himself; hopefully it will stay that way. Let everyone do his/her job, and don't hang on every little "leak"; it will drive you crazy.

I learned from my mistake with Edelman. I jumped all over the guy and he was proven innocent. And Edelman was arrested for what he was accused of.

I am a police sergeant but am not a MSP Homicide Detective or assigned to a Homicide Unit (only the MSP and BPD have primary jursidiction on homicide cases).

You can't read anything into AH not being in custody but from my experience its only a matter of time. It's doubtful he would be less than cooperative if he had nothing to do with the incident. His attorney would be trying to create as much distance as possible between AH and the victim. While I do not know what is going on behind the scenes the publicly reported facts are pretty damning (texts, in vehicle with victim shortly before body discovered, etc).

There are likely other similarly troubling facts that the MSP is not dislosing for obvious reasons. Best case scenario from this point is that AH is a witness seeking immunity from any unintended involvement. At worse he was the triggerman or was on scene wherever this guy was killed. Finding the actual murder scene is crucial- from what I've read the location where the body was recovered is not where the shooting took place(?)

Just as likely is that the murdered fellow left the others using the other car to o meet his guy for a buy and was killed. Perceived lack of cooperation could be because of drugs not involvement in a murder. Just the drug aspect would have enough of an effect on a career to cause someone to lawyer up. This is all speculation but I don’t understand why so many people are jumping to either that he was the triggerman or there.

"Innocent until proven Guilty" is one thing. Usually just applies in the court of flaw. However, in the court of public opinion, there is no such protection. People are free to believe what they want based on the information they have, and that information really doesn't look good for Hernandez. It's getting harder to point at the issue and say, "there's gotta be a rational explanation."

I'm still kind of in the wait and see mode, but as more and more comes out, I'm starting to think more and more that it ain't gonna end well for AH. Especially with the article in the first post of this thread.

He is guilty of one thing though. Guilty of horrible judgment. I will never understand how some people with priveledged lives like NFL players keep putting themselves in this kind of position in the first place. Seems like a yearly thing too. It's kind of a Russian Roulette game of hanging out with the wrong crowd and see which group screws up who's life first. Guys gotta use your heads, man!!

Your thought occurred to me, and then I remembered this happened in Attleboro. Anyone with a stash is not going to risk patrolling the burbs especially if they aren't white.

True, but the "court of public opinion" shouldn't put him in prison or cause him to lose his job.

No argument there.

Who knows, as Gwedd pointed out he may have been the designated driver, his friend may have brought up drugs and AH said "No way, not in my car not near my house, you're on your own"

He may be an angel he may be a scumbag, we have know clue. Jules was arrested last year and people on here lynched him straight up and look how that turned out. It was embarrassing.

Actually it was Halloween night 2011. . . . but you have the embarrassing part right.

Think positively! Lots of women like the bad boys

Patsfans.com is not a court of law. Innocent until proven is guilty is what a jury must believe. The general public can and will draw whatever conclusions it wants to. And the only conclusion I have seen anyone draw is that this guy is an idiot who hangs out with idiots making idiotic decisions. Don't think that is a stretch based on what we know so far.
