Looking to buy 6 tickets to the Patriots-Texans game at Reliant Stadium Houston December 1. Anyplace other than Stubhub? Already $200 plus a pop there.

I don't know if there's a limit on the amount of tickets you can buy but single game tickets go on sale for that game on 7/22 at ticketmaster.com.

The problem with trying to buy single game tix on ticketmaster is that you usually just can't get through due to the low number of single game tix for sale.

Out of several yrs of trying every single year, I lucked out only once, and of course they were end-zone nose bleeds.

The NFL ticket exchange, which is the official ticketmaster fan exchange is a great and reliable site to purchase tix. I've scored great seats there before for somewhat reasonable prices.

It really all depends on how much you want to spend, but there are options on there from upper level end zones all the way to field level clubs. You decide how much you want to spend by moving the price-bar around.

Don't see it being much cheaper than 200 a piece though.

I'm buying tix for the SNF away game in Baltimore on 12/22, and the cheapest I've found anywhere are about 225.

Thanks - Do you have a link for that site?

My nephew's company...a ticket aggregation & comparison site

"a platform where users could search for the best tickets from more than 50 event-ticketing sites such as Stubhub, Ticketmaster, and eBay. Interactive maps and an algorithm called Deal Score highlight the best values according to users’ priorities (such as price, seating, dates, etc). When a user clicks on an available ticket, the link takes them to the checkout page on the ticketer’s site. SeatGeek takes 10 percent of the transaction."

wait until the date gets closer...tix will always get cheaper. Buying this far out..you are going to pay out the *****

I didn't know that was your nephew's site, PWP.

I recently installed the app on my iphone and was just browsing the market this afternoon. It's a good app/site that offers prices and comparisons for all of the major ticket brokers.

Congrats and good luck to him.

Here ya go, QB12:

NFL Tickets - Official Ticket Exchange of the NFL by Ticketmaster

Like I said, this one is the "official" ticket exchange from ticketmaster itself, so there are no worries regarding the authentication etc.

It seems that fans who have tickets (mostly season tix) just list the games they are selling, and you can browse the different seats and prices. I can't guarantee that you'll find the best prices on here, but it's worth a shot. Their prices seem to be pretty comparable to the market though.

Not sure if you remember, but there was a constantly running commercial during the NFL games the past couple of seasons. It showed a Seahawks fan at his computer and then panned to his wife who was apparently newly pregnant. As he sadly went on the computer to list his tickets for sale, she gave him the old 'atta boy' pat on the back to prove that he was doing the right thing. This was their main commercial, so you may remember seeing it at some point.

You can also try PWP's nephew's site that is called seatgeek.com. It also gives a comprehensive market comparison by going through the best prices from places like stubhub, and other market sites. You may end up finding a better money value deal on there.

seatgeek.com is fantastic!

Curiously - has anyone had any luck unloading their own seats on the ticket exchange? I am first year season ticket holder (section 313), and I don't ever want to sell my extra seats to a broker. I waited too long (12+ years) to take any chances. And, I've had bad experiences buying from brokers - so this is my way at getting back at them from gouging me. So, the ticket exchange seems like the safest play.

Thanks for this great resource. I can't wait to see the Pats come down to Carolina and spank the Panthers on Monday night in November!

How long before the game should I wait before looking to buy tickets? A week before the game, a month, etc??

Find 2 friends who are season ticket holders and will buy you seats through their accounts. Season ticket holders can buy up to 4 extra tickets to a game at cost (or I think there is a small fee) through the NFL Ticket Exchange. My husband (who is the actual account holder for us) doesn't know exactly when they go on sale, but guesses it's when the team actually distributes the tickets and then people can put them on line. In our experience, tickets continue to become available, even to playoff games, up to the time of the game. There is usually a bump a few days before the game, probably when either the Pats, their opponents, or both, return tickets that are not going to be used by family & friends for the game. Good luck!

First try scorebig.com The tickets are cheaper, but may not be available.

Never-mind scorebig. All Texan games are available EXCEPT the Patriots.

Your seats will sell. No problem.
Figure out what games you are going to and list the lesser games early and they will be bought.
If you wait until week of the game it will be harder to sell if there are weather problems. The night games always have many seats left over too and are tougher to sell if you wait too long.
What row did you get?

Tickets are on sale tomorrow/today to general public.
Probably best to wait if the selection isn't great.

Hi,

I'm a Pats fan from Australia, I am coming to Boston in November specifically to go to the Patriots vs Steelers game. (and i'm also combining it with a family holiday to keep the missus happy. take the kids to Disneyworld etc)

I am on the waiting list for season tickets. What are my chances of finding 4 lower level tickets on the Patriots sideline (first few rows) through the Patriots ticket exchange? Also, do you know roughly how much this would cost per ticket through the exchange?
I have had a bit of a look around at stubhub, seat geek etc and the prices for tickets around the area I would like to sit are $800+ each.

Is there any chance of finding 4 decent tickets through ticketmaster when the tickets go on sale to the general public?

Not really, my friend.

While I have been successful on a very small percentage (I'm 1/5 or 20%) during Ticketmaster single game sales, all of the seats are generally in the upper endzones, or in an absolute best case scenario--high uppers that may be more geared towards the center (IF you're super, super lucky).

There are such an insanely small amount of single game seats on sale, and for a game that is as popular as the Steelers whose fans travel pretty well themselves, you really won't have much of any kind of chance in hell. Now if we're talking the Arizona Cardinals or Jacksonville Jaguars, tickets are a little bit more plentiful, but that isn't your case here.

One thing you may seriously want to consider is lowering your standards a bit. There are plenty of good seats that don't necessarily have to be in the "lowers" that are much more cost-friendly.

Something in the middle up a little higher, or off to the side--and you'll shave off at least 500 a piece from each one of those tickets, taking your grand total down from 3,200 all the way to 1,200. That extra 2,000 dollars will come in very handy when your kids want those 15 dollar mouse ear balloons at Disney World

In all seriousness, you can find something very good for much less. Unless, of course you have that kind of money to throw around....and in that case, my student loans are waaay past due--so keep me in mind

thanks for the info supafly.
