sometimes...life just ain't fair.....

love how he's rockin' the "CJ" on the side of his cape...

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

I'm getting kind of bored with Sanchez by now. That bum has been done for quite some time. I'm eagerly awaiting the geno smith circus.

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

The idea of a quarterback controversy in New York brings a smile.. then Rex can say something about how good quarterback controversies are for the team...

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

In the midst of all this, I have something positive to say about Sanchez. There's no better starting quarterback I'd rather see on the Jets.

See what I did there?

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

"Snacks" Intercepted Sanchez In Practice - Business Insider

Sanchez threw three interceptions and drew the disdain of head coach Rex Ryan.

The worst of the trio was a toss to Jets nose tackle Damon "Snacks" Harrison. Assigned to cover the running back on the play, "Snacks" easily caught the ball because it was thrown directly to him.

Sanchez is learning. He figured out how to turn the ball over without sticking his face in the butt crack of one of his offensive linemen. He is getting better. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

Am I the only one who sees is as potentially bad news for NE? If Sanchit get beat to the starting job by Geno Smith, we may, *just may* get some better competition within the division.

These sum up my immediate thoughts as I read this. I really really want to see Sanchez starting for the Jests this year, and hope he turns it around and has a great training camp (so he can fall on his face later).

Sez the guy with the crayon font on the Welker/Amendola pic.
Yer too cute, Kontra.

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

No offense, but this is the kind of thread that I'd expect to see on JI if there was a negative story about the Pats. Why to we even care about what going on in Jet OTA's. THey are the LEAST significant team in our division.

Now don't get me wrong. I hate the Green Beans as much as the the next guy, and there isn't a limit on the bad things I would wish on that palsied organization. However I would have hoped that we are above creating threads on Jets issues here. That the ubiquitous "Jets suck" throead would be enough to satisfy our need to lash out at them.

My first reaction when I saw this thread was, that's something a Jets fan would post on JI if it had been a negative story about the Pats.....and I believe we are better than Jets fans. So this thread should be closed or at least merged with the Jets suck thread.

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

I'm getting worried. The Jets may try and get someone good at qb.

Competence maybe closer than we thought. Roughly 2016.

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

So Sanchez showed up for practice. Where's the story?

oh well...it's a little slow this time of year...maybe a stroll down memory lane with the world's greatest step-on-his-own-unit Kiper Kiper 19...from the 2011 draft..

Pats had the chance to get Jordan AND Wilkerson

They got a developmental skinny OT who needs to improve his strength.

Stop spinning it, the Pats failed

And stop talking about their 2nd round picks, they traded away a first

DUMB

heh..our starting LT who stepped in and replaced Light..."weak!!!!".."developmental!!!" "Failure!!!".....

Nnamdi Asomugha set to sign with the New York Jets
Published on July 29, 2011 by Eric Schmidt · No Comments

The hottest free agent in the NFL this season, CB Nnamdi Asomugha, has been rumored to several teams this offseason, but after listening to rumors all day of the Houston Texans being in the lead to sign him only to watch Houston sign another corner, it appears that the eventual trip to the New York Jets is in the works. The online source, @incarceratedbob is reporting this evening that Nnamdi has agreed “in principal” with the Jets.

@incarceratedbob also broke the Santonio Holmes re-signing before any major media source this week, so while this might be a roll of the dice to go to print with this, he’s been dead on this week with three different signings I was following.

If Nnamdi does sign with the Jets, he is going to have to take a pay cut, but the duo of Revis and Asomugha at the corner position is going to be perhaps the most formidable corner tandem the NFL has ever seen. Now the Jets will still need to add a pass rusher and a secondary receiver across from Santonio Holmes and Rex Ryan might finally see his prediction of a Super Bowl come true. The duo of Revis and Asomugha could see the New York Jets set the record for the fewest points allowed in a single season if the Jets add a pass rusher, because I don’t know who would be able to pass on that tandem, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, no one.

BTW Joker, I'm well aware who incarcerated putz is, but there is far more out there, he's just jumping on coattails, as usual.

So calm down, clown, and just keep hating, you'll have a lot more to hate by morning.

NFL Quarterback Rating Formula (National Football League) a = (((Comp/Att) * 100) -30) / 20 = ((TDs/Att) * 100)..
.

Mitch, you do realize you just exposed yourself here, right?

Sanchez's QB rating in the playoffs the last two years is something around 120.

Brady, closer to 50

Sanchez > Brady....he's in the twilight now

Super Homer x 2 just KNEW the Jets had finally climbed the mountain in the summer of 2011....and it was TIME to demand the respect that always seemed to elude the Green Beans fans for so many years...THIS TIME FOR SURE!!

and then...that first game of the season against Dallas...THIS was IT!!! The Green dominance was established....man, those were heady days for Gangrene...

SUCK IT
Jets leave off right where they left off

First game, some sloppiness, but Sanchez already shows he's much improved and ready to be a top QB!

Defense had some holes and shut things down when it mattered.

yes..the Jets left off right where they left off...you know?...I mean...uh...um...what DO I mean? ...beats me...but Marky Marky was READY!!....what happened?

OK...last one tonight....this was a few weeks later when the Raiders...that's right..THOSE Raiders...came into the Meadowlands and slapped the Jets all over the field....the Superhomer put the blame squarely on the refs, the weather ,the breaks, the lucky plays, the once in a lifetime runs on the Jets defense...it HAD TO BE!...didn't it?

Raiders are an improved team, they are athletic, big and fast, but the biggest difference is they are playing a little smarter, Jackson seems to have them playing smarter.

The Jets game was their home opener, Jets had them at 17-7, and the officials helped them back into the game

Sanchez could have had them up at 24 pts in the first half if he doesn't get greedy after the long punt return with the INT in the EZ.

****ty game for the Jets to lose, they outplayed them despite what the media will say, the Raiders had 130 yds rushing on the one long DMC run and two long trick plays.

Jets made mistakes on D that can be corrected and dominated the first and 2nd quarter after the opening drive and the Raiders didn't do anything again until the long run late in the 3rd quarter.

Raiders are strong up front, but have a secondary that can be beaten, they focused on the Jets' WR's, so Sanchez attacked them underneath.

They could be a problem for the Pats but they are weakest where the Pats are the strongest

Should be an interesting game.

those dang "long runs"....otherwise..."domination!!!!"...a dominating loss...has there ever been any other kind of Jet loss?

to be continued......

If the Green Beans weren't dominated by most of their opponents last season ... they would've been dominant! Take their offense, for example: If Sanchez hadn't effed up so much, he would've outplayed Brady in every category. His upside is much greater than Brady, whose abilities peaked long ago. You've got to conclude that from top to bottom -- front office, coaches, players and fan base -- New Jersey is a much HUNGRIER organization than New England, and is long overdue for a breakout season. Ceiling unlimited!

That's hilarious Joker. I feel kind of bad laughing at rayray. I think he might be ******ed and i just hope he isn't as clueless as he is about the jests in other aspects of his life.

so...continuing on in the 2011 season, we get to the mid point and the Denver game...if anyone is working out in Century City on game shows, you may want to think of "Spot The Excuses!" starring Raylogic Raylogic 19...ratings dynamite!...let's spot the excuses!!!

Stop the nonsense about Sanchez, it's pass protection...1

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Earlier in the year it was due to Mangold's injury2, and then Rob Turner's injury on top of it.3

Hunter has been inconsistent, but it isn't all on him4.

The MAIN problem with our pass protection is our blocking TE5, all good passing teams need a GOOD blocking TE, that can play the strong and weak side, in many cases, those teams need two blocking TE's, our blocking TE's are horrible. Keller is decent, but then we lose him as a receiver, the guy that has been BRUTAL is Matt Mulligan6, and he is almost single-handedly the reason our pass protection has been brutal, why our passing offense has been inconsistent, and why the running game has been inconsistent. Earlier in the year it was the injuries on the OL7, Mangold's injury8, and before that Turner9, that was huge, but Mulligan has been a huge downgrade, and this will need to be addressed after the season.

Sanchez got knocked around on sacks by Von Miller because Miller abused Mulligan.10 Mulligan missed another critical pass play where he was abused inside and did not pick up his assignment.

People sit here and kill Schotty and Mark, you want more downfield passing, you think the playcalling is bad, Mark can't throw, or his accuracy is bad, the running game has been up and down, if the play of our OL as a whole, our pass protection, and blocking in the running game had been effective, ALL of that happens.11

It's the middle of the season, and it's tough to make personnel changes now, but Mulligan needs to get his **** together fast.

I'd like to see Shaun Nelson get an opportunity when ready and asap!!!

The season has been a rough one to watch, it seems the ball isn't bouncing our way sometimes,12 timely turnovers,13 timely penalties14, timely injuries15, losing Greene hurt bigtime last night16, his injury took away the effect of play-action17, and don't undermine that injury on a short weekHUH??..Wha??. Maybe a full week, guys like McKnight and Powell, knowing LT was going to be out, they get more reps, they get some practice time in pads, Greene's injury, coupled with a short week, a Thursday night game off of a Sunday night game ALL played a roll last night.18
..."played a 'roll'...the Shaykespeer Shaykespeer of Jet Nation"..

18 reasons why it was never Sanchez...a record that will stand forever...or until the Jets play the Pats in the Swamp again....
