The 2013 season: The Jets suck (as usual)

LOL...One guy apparently "Gets It"....

For the most part, I think we collectively suck as fans too. And most of us sucky fans seem to flock to JI.

JI: Home of the *****ty fan suck fest.

Jets are backbiting already? - AFC East Blog - ESPN

Cue the circus music and get out the clown suits. The zany New York Jets are at it again.

This time, the annual backbiting is occurring earlier than usual.

One anonymous Jets player told Mike Freeman of CBSSports.com that “80 to 90 percent” of the locker room does not want quarterback Mark Sanchez under center. That's a strong statement, especially considering Sanchez is in a four-way quarterback competition.

:singing:

Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

"Snacks" Intercepted Sanchez In Practice - Business Insider

Sanchez threw three interceptions and drew the disdain of head coach Rex Ryan.

The worst of the trio was a toss to Jets nose tackle Damon "Snacks" Harrison. Assigned to cover the running back on the play, "Snacks" easily caught the ball because it was thrown directly to him.

The gift that keeps on giving. Jets fans are flipping all over themselves about who should start. It's amazing. And it's only May.

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

does this really surprise anyone? He is a horrible QB

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

I hear he's improved during he offseason. so far, he hasn't run up the backside of one of his OL once!

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

At least ...Sanchize is adding to his defensive completion totals!!

At least not publicly, as far as we know...

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

On the ESPN forums I remember in his rookie season, Jets fans saying things such as "he looks like a young Joe Montana". Seriously.

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

nothing funnier than Mark sanchez I hated him when he came out and I was probably 11 or 12 at that point and hated him glad my prediction came true

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

OK, the funniest moment of Jets suckage I've ever seen is, by far, the butt fumble.

But I have to say that the funniest thing I've ever READ about Jets suckage is seeing that Sanchez, now in his fifth year, got picked by a nose tackle nicknamed "Snacks."

Just can't make this stuff up.

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

For those of us (who isn't??) into the most delightful Jet Shadenfreude, this season looks to present an embarrassment of riches..

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

I still remember that first Sanchez game against the pats, where he was "so good on third down" and when they won the game he hugged and kept the ball like it was a superbowl trophy.

Screw that team

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

Sanchez is terrible. He's an awful quarterback. It'd be more newsworthy if he wasn't terrible in practice.

Re: Mark Sanchez Was Terrible In The Jets' First Public Practice

On the ESPN forums I remember in his rookie season, Jets fans saying things such as "he looks like a young Joe Montana". Seriously.

Oh yeah, they were nuts for him. It was funny, since I live out in LA, I saw quite a few of his college games, and my opinion of him coming out was pretty low. Not a great arm, hadn't demonstrated any real ability to read through his progressions, since he rarely had to. Seemed iffy under pressure- basically, the warning signs were there for all of the things that became his undoing at the NFL level. Yet when I said as much, Jets fans went nuts and basically called me an uninformed loser. When he truly sucked as a rookie, I pointed out that QBs who were that bad as rookies almost never became valuable players down the road. Again, they went nuts and pointed to Troy Aikman, while trying to claim that he had just completed step one in the Peyton Manning career arc. Plus I was an idiot for not accounting for the fact that they went to the AFCCG.

That's the really funny thing, I guess. Sanchez has been a bad quarterback--bad in the kind of way where a neutral observer realizes that he'll never be good--since he arrived in the league. It just took Jets fans a really long time to realize it, and now they feel completely blindsided by something that should have been obvious to them. To this day, I still can't figure out why the Jets extended him. I guess they thought that if they paid him like he was a good quarterback he'd magically become one.

Yes, stuck.

Only the uber homers on this board such as yourself and sg3 already view Sanchez as a Top 10 QB. The reality is, he's not close to that at this point in time.

There was no need for this. The only way this makes sense is if we end up bringing in a guy like Mario Williams. If no Peyton, then the Jets should've rode out this season with Sanchez on his current deal and if he showed significant improvement, THEN sign him to an extension next offseason.

If he takes us to the AFCCG twice in the next three years, while you're crying about his contract, then I LOVE being "STUCK"

He got the same money as Kevin Kolb and Ryan Fitspatrick, and that money isn't even guaranteed

There WAS A need for the move, on several levels, you are just too naive, or too caught up in your mindless and baseless agenda to see it.

- Frees up a huge amount of cap space
- Converts money into guaranteed money that already existed on his existing deal
- New money isn't guaranteed, Jets have an out after the next 2 years if need be
- Despite the media SPUN off-season, it sends a huge statement to Sanchez himself, and the so-called "unnamed sources," or any other doubter that they are committed to Sanchez and the body of work the last 3 years provides PLENTY of just reasoning. This is big because the locker room doesn't have to wonder about the QB of the team, they don't have to wonder if he's a lame duck or not, they can either strap it on and get on board, or be gone.

It was a HUGE move, the right move, a savvy move, a fiscally positive move, a GREAT move!!!!

so there...ENOUGH of this blatant Pats homerism!!!!...you all owe the Jets an apology!!!

So... did you just save that comment the instant that you saw it, knowing how hilariously stupid it would look going forward? If so... well played.
