Actually the logo they have now is the throwback. Not sure if you're saying the same thing.
Yeah, I was confused by that too. The Giants originally had the ny on their helmet, then changed to the whole word Giants, then reverted back to the classic plain ny initials.
Then you have the changes to the middle red stripe being bordered by white during the years they spelled out Giants on the helmet.
Ya wanna see a weird Giants helmet, check out the 1975 version, when they spelled out ny in a futuristic font. It's so short lived, barely anyone even knows of its existence in G Men history.
Then there's the whole Yale Bowl dealio during the 1973 & 1974 seasons. Giants actually played their home games in New England while Yankee Stadium was being renovated and Giants staduim was being built.
There's pictures from a Pats-Giants regular season game from 1974 from Yale Bowl.
So... yeah. There ya go. There's yer Giants overkill from a football uniforms & stadiums history nut.
btw, new Dolphins logo is generic. Shoulda stuck with the classic. I mean, anyone over 40 remembers when The Pats were perennially stuck behind them in the division. They WERE a marquee franchise after all.
