I agree with this, but the question is do the cities want the "morning after spending" to be a Sunday or a Monday? Clearly the answer is they would prefer the "morning after" spending be on Monday.Could you please explain how the host city would be "giving up weekend revenues"?
I say that 90+% of people who go to the SB stay overnight until the next morning already. Most check-out times are 11am or 12 noon. So, the cities are getting a breakfast and probably a lunch from people who attended the SB.
The way it is right now, people will spend on Friday night, spend on Saturday night, spend on Sunday (either at the game or local events), then leave Monday morning. If you move the game to Saturday, you have everybody leaving town on Sunday and you lose a full day of spending.
