And so it begins...again.

Jets player to me on Mark Sanchez: “I’ve never seen a guy lose his confidence to this level. It’s gone. He’s playing scared.”

Actually this pathetic tweet indicates that the terminally stupid Sanchez might possibly actually have the intelligence to realize that he is not an NFL QB

The Sanchez era is over then, McElroy gets the start on Sunday.

Shame that they're playing an actual QB now

Don't worry yourself too much. With that popgun arm, McElroy's not the answer either.

I don't know if you can say McElroy is an actual NFL QB too. I know they are making Brady comparisons over on the Jets boards, but he is probably not the answer either.

You knew it was only a matter of time before the Jets fans would be making Brady references about McElroy after they announced him as a starter:

Looking at he scouting report on BRADY coming out of college, you'd think he and McElroy are joined at the hip. Only McElroy is far brighter! If Bledsoe had not been injured, we'd never know about Brady. How about we give our guy a shot before we proclaim doom and gloom?

Money talks: BS walks!

I'm more and more convinced the Jets wanted to tank.

If Rex believed McElroy is the better man for the job, how is Tebow your #2 and McElroy inactive when your season and playoff hopes are on the line on MNF? Why wasn't McElroy active last night?

Jets fans seem to have it all backwards.

Mark Sanchez was not ruined by the franchise. He does not have the physical or mental talent to be a successful NFL quarterback. In no time over his four year stint did he even play a stretch of games that made you hopeful. His accuracy is atrocious, his decision making is slow and bad, he doesn't have ideal size of impressive arm strength. The Jets brought him into a situation where he could win immediately, relying mainly on the running game and defense. This year is proving what I've said all along, that Brian Schottenheimer is not a bad defensive coordinator; look at how Josh McDaniels' offenses look under Brady versus Orton or Bradford. There is no coaching, locker room, or anything that could make Mark Sanchez a good quarterback. It's four years later, and they're still whining that it wasn't Mark's fault. Well, it was. Is he a good guy? Maybe. Does he work hard? Maybe. It doesn't matter. He is an NFL quarterback who had no business being there. There is never a time when you watch him play and marvel about his natural talent.

On the other hand, the Jets probably will ruin McElroy. He is a guy who could come into a great situation, build confidence, and win some games. But they are going to throw him to the wolves now- his situation is a 180 from Sanchez, who was given every excuse and every advantage for years. It is insane to put a second year player into what has become a circus show. I think if you had put McElroy on that those '09-10 teams, the Jets might have won it all. A smart quarterback who can play within himself and not make mistakes.

That's just how in their heads we are. Every new QB prospect is going to be their Brady, and every coach they get is going to be their Belichick.

Then reality sets in.

God they're fun

maybe the jets will sign vick

The gift that just keeps on giving... :rocker:

I hope not. He'd be a signficant upgrade.

Not so sure about that. Vick needs to be protected well if he's to flourish, and the Jets OL doesn't look very capable of doing that. Vick would get killed on the current Jets offense.

For how long though? Until they rebuild the OL and find some good receivers and get a running game (whew, I'm tired even talking about it) no QB will survive that insanity.

You're post made my day! Thank you.

Vick is a screw up, a bad leader, injury prone, has a low football IQ and makes a boat load of excuses, in other words the perfect Jet. Definitely a significant upgrade over Sanchez but still sucks IMO.

Bring him on, I think BB will make him look foolish.
