I wasn't booing effort or execution, but play calling. I don't feel like that makes me less of a fan.
and yet........here you are
wrong.......you pay to do whatever you please within the rules of the establishment
you don't want to boo? don't boo
doesn't make you better than anyone else
I agree people watch for different reasons, but much like a children's movie, their will be children in the stadium. That sets a responsibility to all adults to act accordingly, or understand that you are doing these crazy things in front of children. Who's parents later have you explain your actions, as being a jerk, drunk, stupid, or just not mature.
Every guy in America wants to take his son, and daughter to a game, and show them the thrill of being together and cheering together. How the team runs, and tradition.
Tell me how you explain to your 9 year old that Booing our own players is ok ?
Then try to teach him compassion, maturity, control, and don't put people down because they are not good at something, its not nice, the next day.
Your creating a paradox for the child. Dad says this is bad, but dad does it.
Well then you don't know New Orleans we a subtle and strict in most things.
I see this all the time, lol
" Johnny dont bother the man please, Johnny its rude to do that, john honey its not good behavior to bother a person unless they ask , ok. John, SMACK!!! "
The Billboards are already payed for with Goodell statements, and he will be curiously told that we have no wish to serve you here at almost every restaurant. Which they can do, and its legal.
Their will be signs in the stands, but Id be surprised if you hear a peep from the crowd.
We do stuff like this, catching him off guard, and giggle about it.
Goodell might be Booed if the Saints are in the Super Bowl, as soon as he shows up. Maybe, but thats a big maybe. If we do Boo him for that reason it will be because we want to show the boys support by Booing a guy that tried to give them no change to win. I can bet you $100 that Brees will tell everyone to stop it though. I dont have a problem explaining to my kid about Booing a guy that is destroying football, and that most fans agree that he might need to be Booed in every stadium until they get someone competent.
That is not close to Booing your own boys that are trying and failing. Thats just being selfish I think.
You want, you want, you want, but you don't get, so you cry or throw a tantrum, hence Boo.
There is much in your post that i agree with. However, I think the biggest fundamental difference between our views is the severity of it. You seem to take it very seriously and consider it rude. I don't particularly. I'm probably closer to Andy's view that it is probably more immature, a practice used more often by children than adults. Being hurt by a booing crowed is the equivalent of hurt a group of booing children. Its pretty meaningless in my mind.
What I do find odd in your position, however, is that you would make an excuse for behavior you consider rude to anyone including Goodell. I think the reason for that is that in the end you also know that in the grand scheme of things its a pretty harmless action.
Are you a real rabbi, Mr. Dfireweasel?

Well, that explains it right there. Buddy, if you started rooting for the Pats in 2002, then boo all you want. At least then, we'll know you who are.
I just think it comes down to the fact that there is no where else in society where we boo when we dont like the services being provided except sports.
