Maroney coulda got it done today. Huge props to our Guards and Centers. They owned their man, got to the next level and owned their next man. Huge props to Gronk, Fells, and Mike H. on the blocking too.

not really.......both guys hit the LOS hard......

running out of the shotgun still sucked

200 yards between the tackles

i was impressed too...what a game...really an awesome running performance we saw yesterday

and also Ridley was so good

very vey well - it is important to have an efficient running game

bravissimi !!!

his got explosiveness in him thats for sure. carrying gilmour i think at the 5 yad line to the end zone. that was awesome.

Do you know what I love about Bolden? His energy. When he gets tackled, he runs back to the huddle. If he is coming onto the field, he runs. When he leaves the field, he runs. There is something unique about this guy, that I really like.

Let's not go overboard... how about the standard hyperbole like "Betty White could have got it done today"?

I mean there's no reason to go to ridiculous extremes.

I'm not agreeing because I liked or disliked Maroney. I'm just agreeing with the part about hyperbole. That happens a lot around here and, whether it's in support of a player or otherwise, it's annoying.

I was at the game and had and endzone type look but low to the field row 20 or so. The holes were indeed impresive and every time we bounced a run outside there was nobody to be found for 10 yards. While I thought Bolden ran with good power and decent speed and vision I wouldnt get all gaga just yet.

And yeah Gronk was clearing it out for these guys that little counter action play was killing the Bills all day and they never adjusted. They were to afraid of Brady.

Let's take another trip to the Hyperbowl that might be less ridiculous to some fans here.

Now that we have a running game to go along with our passing game, the DCs in the NFL will be crapping in their pants at the thought of playing the Pats.

no words to describe it?

Agreed, I didn't even know how many carries he got, but he certainly passed the eye test yesterday.

I'm not saying that he's Corey Dillon, but watching the two rbs yesterday (Bolden and Ridley) was the first time since Corey Dillon that I recall the patriots running to get first downs (as opposed to merely just trying to keep the defense honest).

Wow, what a performance by both guys but especially Bolden. The was running with authority. What you love to see is a guy finish his runs (falling forward while still putting up a fight).

Love Boldens running style, fierce, punishing with speed and power.
He'll be great bad weather back.

Some tend to forget that Bolden is raw and only has very few NFL carries under his belt. I like his vision, like Ridley, to see the hole, hit it fast, and power thru tacklers.

This true.

Everybody healthy at the same time would be scary. You can't even comfort yourself that Brady's a touch less scary than in 07... because OH NOES, the Pats have a running game to go to too.

Elway late in his career...finally wins two bowls with a fearsome running attack...just sayin'

Really. How excited do we deserve to get? I'm sold on Bolden, but all in due course. I'm the biggest homer on the board, but this was not against the Ravens. The explosive game could be as simple as abusing a bad Bills linebacking corp: Arthur Moats and Kelvin Sheppard?... yawn. Show me 200 yards on the Niners and you'll have me.

The Houston Texans offense rushed for over 150 yards against the Denver Broncos defense in Week 3 of the 2012 NFL Season.

So your standard of a good running game is rushing for 200 yards against a team that never allows it?
So what if the Bills D is bad? The dominated it. OF course that doesn't mean they run for 250 against everyone, but 250 isn't the definition of a good running game.
Its like saying no one is good unless they do as well against the best defense as they do against the worse. Its silly.

Seriously. Maybe if they *both* got 200 yards against the 2000 Ravens, I guess I'd be impressed. Until then ... yawn.

(No, really though - the Patriots did exactly what a good running game is supposed to do against a bad run defense. Why look for negatives here?)

If nothing else, the ground game is good enough to beat opponents that are selling out against the pass, and 2012 is the first time that that's been the case since 2006 at best (2005, more likely). That's a big deal, and is going to change the way that teams defend the Pats in ways that BJGE couldn't. We're already seeing it - there's a reason why McDaniels is calling so many play action passes.

Look...I just refuse to be impressed, OK??....NOTHING will impress me...I'd rather stay unimpressed no matter how many hundreds of yards the Pats rack up running the ball...the only thing that will impress me is if the Pats run for first downs on every single carry and Brady completes 99% of his passes...anything less than 50 point blowout wins and I'm sorry...not good enough...call me a homer but ...that's just the way I feel about...complete perfection every single minute of every single game or.....I'm just NOT IMPRESSED.

Of course buffalo's D or the way they were selling out for Brady caused bigger than average holes, and props to the line of course but...

We have two talented no nonsense backs so why assume what we saw won't be repeated?

Bolden's no dillon and he's not going to average near 8 ypc if used more, but he's got a little bit of dillon in him. If he keeps on running angry, he'll make defenses take notice, and maybe take a powder.

Ridley's a classic slasher, finding those little cracks and exploding. I don't want to see ridley get worn down as so many backs are and Bolden's the perfect short yardage type since we don't have a fullback. He loves to hit.

The problem, as I see it, is it isn't usually a matter of how much talent you have, it's using it effectively within the game plan. Hopefully, when we're back using the two talented TEs, the power running game will complement it.

When we run the hurry up, I'd like to see them use Woody as a receiver a little more often, because, unless it's a surprise, he doesn't seem to get as much done as a RB. Vereen will have to win a job, or not.
