I honestly do like Deossie as a technical analyst, and honestly don't care if he's a Giants fan and disses the Pats.

I don't identify with my team as if it's me or my family. Deossie isn't insulting me or my family. He can only insult those who take on a belief system that allows it. I think the belief system involves identification that goes beyond simple sports to something religious.

I like the guy's analysis. Why should I give it up? I'd rather hear something from a hater who is forced to reveal something good about the team. But most of all I want something with some insight. Give me data, not religion.

Thats nice. He disrespected the fans who pay his bills, who patronized his resturant. Myself and the others don't care if hes a giants fan, but when he starts complaining about how bad he has it up here, and dealing with the fans thats over the line. Thats what this is about. He posed as a pats fan for years on tv and radio pimping himself, his resturant and his pre and post game tail gait party. He was sure happy to take a patriots fans money while at the same time thinking that same fan was a yahoo shmuck.

This has NOTHING to do with him cheering the Giants, and his son. That's been said many times throughout this thread. So please stop saying that's what this is about. It isn't.

The video no longer turns up on Youtube- gee go figure! If it was just him cheering for his son and the Giants, why would he have it taken down? In the video he's had enough to drink to let his true feelings known, and he's on an elevated platform in a room with many, many Giants fans. He goes into detail about how hard it is to be involved with the Patriots and their elitist fans who make his life miserable on a daily basis. He says that Patriots fans are elitist, spoiled, arrogant an annoying people, much like the team and organization they cheer for. He then goes on to say I don't care who knows it, I've kept my true feelings hidden long enough.

So it has nothing to do with cheering for his son and/or the Giants. It has to do with him being a fake. If he's so miserable here, then he should go to NY/NJ and work for the team he loves so much. So he can be honest and sincere in his analysis and commentary.

That's the underlying theme (at least that's what I see it as, others can comment). Don't like it here? Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
The reason this thread is back is because in the very near future, he'll be on TV and radio again talking about how great the Pats are from the top down, like he usually does. Except now we know how he really feels and it is completely contradictory to his weekly BS.

It's widely known that Gresh is a Steelers fan, that DA is a Giants fan, Smerlas is a Bills fan, and many others. Fine, no problem. But they don't represent the Pats on Pats 5th Qtr, etc...

So whether you agree or not, that is what this is about. Not him being a dedicated father.

If I see him at the charity event next year or at the tailgate party, and he isn't drunk, hopefully I'll have the b**ls to tell him off. I wonder if he'll even show up now.

What you clearly do not understand (or are PURPOSELY IGNORING) is that he dissed the Patriots fans and the New England region in his diatribe to the New Yorkers.

So, either you never saw/read/heard that part or you are being purposely disingenuous.

Anyone can understand if he is rooting for his son or the Giants. Dropping a deuce on the region in general and its fans is another matter.

If you STILL don't understand this point after being informed, then I can't help you.

I was at Scarboro Beach in RI all day listening to Mut and Merloni (that isn't easy, either, but it's what I can get on my ipod) and at 1:55 pm Fatso Ordway came on chuckling about DeOssie being on the show today, wearing Patriots gear, hat, shirt, shorts, etc., so they're aware that his douchebaggery dump on us is a potential issue. I right away texted saying I was done for the day with WEEI because of DeOssie's presence on the show. Those who think their defense will be "he was just rooting for his son's team and his former team" are right on the money in my opinion (at least one of his teams). Their cavalier "take us or leave us and screw you" attitude is unbelievably insulting. They think we're too dumb and too uncommitted to make this protest endure, and they're likely right.

great minds think a like. i heard deossie on today and immediately turned the dial to 98.5. then my second thought was to post on this thread. from now on every time i see him on cbs4 or comcast new england or hear him on weei i will post here and contact the station he was on informing them that i found other alternatives for my pats coverage.:rocker::rocker:
