Everyone seems to love Turbin. I don't have any interest in a running back high in the draft. Chris Rainey could be interesting in the Darren Sproles role.

Turbin would be perfect for the Pats, size, speed, hands, strength, therefore, BB won't draft him. BB never picks the guy that makes sense.

Turbin will be drafted. i can't believe someone won't draft Rainey, especially after Percy Harvin has done pretty well with the wr/rb/whatever utility offensive role.

Turbin is not a fullback. He's a do it all RB. Powerful runner with good vision, is a willing blocker,and is a quality receiver as well (unlike bjge).
Great value in the 3rd.
4.44 forty time isn't quite pedestrian for a man of his size. The only rb who was as physically impressive was richardson, and not by much.

Any RB that keeps two hands on the ball and doesn't try to break longs runs could easily replicate BJGE IMO.

I think he'll pick a late round RB or even just a UDFA. We have our 1-2-3 committee and RB isn't a position where I feel the need to spend anything higher than a late round pick on. I would probably make a play no later than in the fourth round.

I like Turbin and, if areas of need have been addressed, wouldn't complain if we picked him up in say the third round. We have 4 picks before that so we could have filled up our other areas of need by then.

We'll almost certainly trade down somewhere. People keep mentioning we don't have any late round picks a the moment but we also only have five picks next year and we know how Belichick hates not being stacked up with picks!We should get a couple of nice compensatory picks though for Anderson and Green-Ellis (especially Anderson given his salary) so we ahve a lot of flexibility in what we want to do.

Having an abundance of picks allows Belichick to be flexible with a number of options...he never pins himself in a corner.

I like LaMichael James in this role better. He's already been successful in this role for a couple of years unlike Rainey. Unfortunately I think he'll go much to early. In the 4th I'd gladly take him.

I'd rather wait until post-draft, then sign 1/2 of Vic Ballard, Brandon Bolden, Davin Meggett,

I agree with you--unless we acquire some low picks in all the wheeling and dealing that NE does--and go at Edwin Baker. I'm intrigue with Edwin Baker of Mich. St. As a seventh-rounder, if he lasts that long, that would be a no-brainer.

He lost a lot of playing time to a tremendous bigger, younger back, Le'evon Bell. And Baker had a fumbling problem.

But no one can ding him for his strength, speed, and pas-catching abilities.

What round do you expect Turbin to be drafted? I've seen 3rd round grades on him. He may go as early as the bottom of the 2nd round. If he is still around in the 3rd, he would be a very good addition.

I didn't mean to say he was going to go in the top 50, but I think he'll go before 93. It seems like he's everybody's favorite value pick or sleeper pick.

RB just isn't much of a need IMO. I'd never take him over Childs, Fleming, or Johnson (Trumaine).

I would argue that we shouldn't even WANT to replace Green.

Indeed, I pray to God we do NOT.

He's a fine fellow, and I like him very much, don't get me wrong...

But when he was on the field, he was HORRIFICALLY one dimensional.

And that dimension was STALE.

Jettisoning Green The Hyphenator is a BEAUTIFULL case of Addition By Subtraction.

I'm a little surprised by your lack of love for the LawFirm. I agree that he has his faults:
he lacks breakaway speed, and he doesn't bounce off many tacklers.

However, he has under-rated vision in that whatever hole the OL provides (and let's face it,
this OL has problems sometimes opening any holes), he finds it and hits it hard. He also has
a knack for most always leaning forward, so that when he is tackled he gains an additional
1-2 yards, often the difference btwn a 1st down & a FG, or a punt.
And there's also the not-insignificant fact that he has never, ever fumbled.

So is the LawFirm an upgradeable player? Of course he is.
Is the cost to upgrade worth the price of one of our non-day-3 draft picks, esp. when taking
the price paid just last year in the RB aisle, at the expense of better values in the Defense aisle?

Turbin will be on the Pats board for sure. However it seems pretty clear that we are loading up on the back field and a return to a more impossing running game is in the offing.

Vareen is a gifted athlete and was not able to hit his stride last year.Ridley C'mon lets be honest he is going to be a beast in his own right.

Tough fullback three great backs W/ JM in tow - Boy's this is going to be a formidable offense. Loyd, Welker, Tight Ends, Ridley, Vareen, Stallworth, Ocho that is some talent.

Sick.

We focus on the trenches, DL, LB, DB, OL - that is the draft i see unflolding.
