Tiquan released; Ocho active?

I can't believe after 190 posts that noone has asked the question:

WHO IS SICK???

I mean is there a chance this isnt just a st, rotation depth issue and some other starter cant go?

If it werent routine for the Pats to make these kind of moves, I might consider the black cloud theory a little more reasonable, but this really seems to be a non story.

From what I've seen reported so far, the kid got screwed.

that's it..Ocho is getting a TD in the 4th tomorrow

I think this also means that there is no way that Ron Brace is not active.

I'm sure it means a world of difference to Tiquan. Even if he only played one snap in the SB he'd be able to tell his grandkids that the played in the SB with one of the all time great QB's.

Now his story will be, I got cut the day before the SB and didn't play in it at all after practicing with the team all week.

I sort of get the football logic behind it....maybe...but cutting a guy the day before the actual game is extremely harsh (unless he did something to warrant getting cut that is. e.g.- screwing up badly in practice).

I was shocked when I saw the thread. What we do not know is the reasoning behind it. As someone mentioned earlier, maybe he goes to the practice squad due to BB hearing a team was going to rob one of our guys. Who knows. I'm not going to question Bill.

In "Education of a Coach", Belichick says he felt he did a crappy job in the SB against the Panthers. The reason for this is he felt he didn't bring enough Defensive linemen into the game, and this eventually came back to bite him as his defense got worn out in the 4th quarter.

Ergo, instead of creating completely RIDICULOUS conspiracy theories about someone being sick, maybe Belichick simply wants depth at the d-line position?

This has no effect on the offense either way, if the gameplan depends heavily on a 4th or 5th wideout, then the Pats weren't going to win anyways.

As far as this (lololol) talk about EMOTIONS AND LOVE AND KARMA: jesus people, get a grip. First of all, there's no such thing as karma. There's execution. The only way this could affect the game is if it becomes a distraction for the pats, and anyone with a reasonable IQ should conclude Belichick hasn't let that happen. I'm sure Belichick did the best he could to handle this. As others have said, Underwood might be on the sidelines anyways. You can be cold and rational and still be empathic.

Cripes. Everyone relax.

Reported by whom? I'm guessing that BB's staff is more tight lipped then the team. Thus, its speculation and assumptions.

He did his job. He got the team ready. No more practices and one more win. His ring will be just as shiny as everyone else's if they win.

You should post more.

I don't like this one bit

That dude is gonna rat us out to someone on the Giants. What's stopping this man from doing it? Imagine being taken all the way to Indy, made personal videos for himself and his family to remember the occasion for a lifetime just to get axed THE DAY BEFORE.

I don't like it one bit and i'm not even a guy that goes along with conspiracy rumours but for some reason my gut says bad move.

On the plus side it means Gronk is 100% good to go and Ocho is ready to prove a point.

Re: I don't like this one bit

how does it mean gronk's 100%?

we don't know whether this is a permanent release or not. the pats may have told him that this move is just for purposes of the game and they'll bring him back later. haven't you heard about Ross Ventrone?

God i hope your right because if it's a straight release then that is colder than cold by the pats backroom staff.

I'll have to read that again. I remember the secondary being shredded in that Super Bowl. A corner when down after being burnt by Smith and later Harrison broke his arm (last drive?). There may have been another DB injury. I don't remember Delome having a lot of time before throwing it in the 4th quarter. But anyways, I'm thinking the same as you about the move.

The most obvious explanation is that they wait until Sat to see how much Gronk can handle. If Gronk is found not up to a full pounding, they decide he will be used where he has the biggest impact--as a receiver, and they decide to take him off return teams where he plays in the middle. Now we need another big body (265-270) who can run and block on STs. The options are few. If they decide Silvestro is the best choice there, they gotta create a roster spot because Silvestro is on the PS. Behind Welker and Branch, they will have Edelman. Underwood and Ocho fill spots 4-5 where they might get 1-2 targets between them, so only one will dress anyway (doesn't matter much which). So they release Underwood and will promptly resign him.

They can only keep 53 players. How is it that all of a sudden cutting players in the NFL is heartless?

Why is it that so many people believe Bill and the Patriots overlooked something as blatantly obvious as this potential problem?

While I fully agree with you, I don't think it would be as obvious an oversight as putting an intern on the sidelines in the Meadowlands a few miles away from NFL headquarters in full Patriot official regalia to videotape the opposing sideline in front of 70,000 opposing fans a couple of weeks after receiving a league memorandum warning all teams not to do it.

So yes, BB is human and can make an oversight every now and then.

Even to this day some fans feel they know better than Belichick ... it's a laugher

Tiquan got screwed ... another

Silvestro makes just one play tomorrow then it will be more than Tiquan was going to make anyways.

We will be running the ball a bit more and controlling the clock tomorrow ... Underwood was simply not needed.
