Cold is neutral.

High winds are bad for the Patriots.

Snow favors the Pats but it's not coming.

I'm not convinced high winds are that bad for the Patriots. Of course it likely depends on exactly how high we're talking about and how sustained they are. 10-15 mph winds with occasional gusts to 25 I don't think is that much of a factor. 20-25 mph with gusts to 35 might be a different story.

Too bad there will be no snow. Regardless of whether it favors either team, snow games are FUN to watch!

I think 10-15 mph winds with occasional gusts to 25 would make things very difficult. Not easy to throw in to that stuff. The Broncos have a better running game and will be less affected.

You may be right or maybe I'm just over-confident. And never having been a QB, I honestly have no idea how hard it is to throw in windy conditions. I am only going by what I've seen from Brady and the Patriots offense over the last ten years. They seem to play well in crappy weather. It is probably far easier to gauge how they play in snow games or in cold weather games than it is in windy games. I can't find any statistical evidence of how well Brady has performed in mildly windy conditions, moderately windy conditions, etc.

If it's gusting up to 25 mph, for passing, the Patriots just go with the shorter stuff to Welker, Hernandez (and watch him get the YACs), same with Gronk, and run screens. And, the Pats don't have a big Moss-like threat deep anymore anyway. Also, run the ball. Tebow, on the other hand, is beginning to look like me and my golf game: if I can let out shaft (take a full swing) I'm pretty good, but my short game that requires touch is lousy. He actually looks like he chokes or something on the touch passes and throws a lot of them into the ground. On long passes he lets it fly and has started to look pretty good. But, the long stuff will more often be affected by gusty winds...more time for the ball in the air. Advantage: Pats, I hope.

I remember a windy game in Buffalo that warped the goal posts! One kicker had his FGA go literally, sideways. As I recall, neither QB was effective passing into the wind.

Since the Pats are a passing team. It effects them the most. I want little wind and don't really care how cold it is as long as its not 30 below zero.

What is the weather in Baltimore during the afternoon? Texans are a warm weather DOME team, and it may effect them much more. Play them in snowy foxboro would be preferable to playing the Ravens, I would think.

Well, hopefully there are no goal post warping winds on Saturday night!

As for the Ravens and Texans, I believe there are snow showers in the forecast for game time.

It looks like it may not be too windy after all. According to this site the winds will start at 9 MPH and get down to 7 MPH. I like that.

And this one, 12-11 MPH.

The aviation forecasts tend to be pretty good looking out 24-36 hours. Norwood is the closest airport that has data. Looks like winds between 9 and 5 mph and temps starting around 25 and getting down into the high teens by the end of the game.
