JETS Backup QB says Jets had too many 'extremely selfish' players

I'm loving this! Can this keep going all off season please ?

That locker room was full of massive ego's. La-Complain-ian, Holmes, Revis, Cromartie, Burress, Bart Scott and not forgetting Fat Rex.

Pretty gutsy thing to say (I mentioned it in the main Jets suck thread.) Maybe he thought it wouldn't go beyond the little local station. WOnder if they'll make him captain next year?

Only if they play Alabama next season...

Naturally, after hearing LdT calling out Holmes and loving it, many of those same posters are all pissed off at McElroy for his comments and are saying he should have kept it in house.

You're not saying that you actually expect Jets fans to be consistent in their reasoning are you? My bad, I said Jets fans and reasoning in the same sentence.

I am vindicated...people call me an over the top Rat hater...now you all know why...I was never over the top, as hard as that is to believe...I was dead center bullseye...I want to write a short book about this Jet season.."The Mouth That Roared... The Toe Creep That Weeped"....a brief essay on the meteoric rise of the biggest egomaniac in all sports history, and his sudden plunge into the bowels of green disappointment and well deserved misery.

LOL!

What legitimizes this that the much more is that it's coming from a untainted kid that just got there out of a winning program and a great Saban led locker room. He knows what the right dynamic is to create a winning environment. And McElroy is a smart/intuitive kid - he was drafted/valued mainly on intangibles. So if he's speaking up, it's a big statement maker because he's got nothing to gain by it, it's just frustration.

The problem with Rex/Jets when you talk such a big game is that it ONLY works when you're winning. The second things go in the other direction, all goes legion of doom, guys stop believing in the propoganda and start turning on each other.
That place is a mess beyond our wildest imagination.

The gifts just keep coming from the Jets franchise. This couldn't happen to a more deserving team. Hope it lasts all offseason.

Shaun Ellis may not have had his best year on the field, but he get's an A+ in geography and timing.

Coaches are paid in part to put the 'T' in team ... more so than ever in this stats driven world of pro sports. Even our own Bill Belichick has struggled at times to achieve the 'T'.

One big difference is BB recognizes it at the time, sexy rexy didnt recognize it until the season went down the toilet.

The New York Jets meltdown- A gift that keeps on giving.

It appears some of the fans see what we saw all along

We all need to stand up and give Rex and Tanny a big than you for this mess. Add in what Mcelroy is saying. Try signing free agents with what's going on here. What a freakin joke the Jets have become.

Poor Rex has tried so hard. See him reach out to a Jets fan here

Why does her gut look like an *****?

I love the distraught bunnies in the background......

Shaun is incredibly slow at this point, like Keith Traylor slow, but I saw him battling back there in limited space. He's fighting his way through this, his last season.

As much as I enjoy hearing how messed up the Jets are, I am a first believer in keeping the laundry in-house.

Man this is a HUGE mess. I don't see how they're going to put the team back together with this administration.

Oh man...I really wish K-Ro 25 was still hanging around these forums. I still remember this one from him back when the Jets acquired Holmes from the Steelers.

I thought you were taking your Jets hating goggles off? To understand what you are saying, you would not be ecstatic if it was the Pats who traded a 5th for a 26 yr old very good WR? you cite 2 guys who are going to be malcontents on the team b/c they have 1 yr contracts and the one WR who has a contract will be irked b/c his role may diminish? Your right you do know nothing about Cotchery b/c the guy is the biggest team first, I just want to win personality we have. You want the Jets to offer Holmes financial security now, why? We gave up zip nada for him and by not renewing his deal he knows he has to be on his best behavior or else he is a) killing future earnings and b) may be out of the league if he doesnt clean up his act

It's interesting this kid has come and spoken out...

..I personally think he's their future. I was really p****d when they drafted this guy. He hasn't got the strongest arm, he's not the most athletic guy out there but he has outstanding football smarts, great pocket presence and if you give him the weapons he will deliver.

If we hadn't had drafted a QB like Mallet I'd ahve take this guy as a developmental prospect.

He reminds me of a young Brady... ultimately, he wins football games. Get used to this guy's name because he may cause us a few headaches int he not-to-distant future!
