I thought they were done, but one more loss and they'd still end up 10-6 which might be good enough. I think they are the only team the pats could definitely beat, that is if they don't choke. Well, should be able to beat the raiders too, I think.

Jets would be the best matchup for the pats..not worried about playing them a third time after beating them pretty bad the first 2 times as some posters are

I see the jets making the playoffs by dumb luck..which is always on their side

Jets don't make it.

The Pats could beat any team in the playoffs since no team has played perfect football and have struggled at times. Even the Packers could lose in a shootout.

I think the Pats could beat the Ravens because they are running team and the Pats have been far better vs. the run.

IMO they need to play the ravens at home to beat them..this is why the #1 seed is so dam important

The can beat them there..but it will be tough..Bal is good at home and not sure how this D will survive on the road

I agree. I think they could lose any of their remaining games. I watched a lot of their game today and their offense sucked again for three quarters and their defense struggled at times a lot. Playing Rex Grossman definitely helped them today. I could see them losing two more games.

Even if BAL gets the #1 (or the #5 if PIT wins the AFCN) they will likely have to play Pittsburgh in a 1 vs 5 matchup.

I'm liking the chances that PIT gets them in the playoffs, and beats them.

I'm hoping for the #2 seed. It would be a much easier path in my opinion.

There's the 3 big guns - Steelers, Pats, Ravens
The AFCS winner Houston who are still amazingly playing like the big guns despite not having their QB, top threat, and top defensive player.
The AFCW winner whoever that may be.

Then the 6th spot is wide open, I believe a 4 way tie right now including the Jets. Of course they're not finished.

I'm rooting for them to make it. I'd rather play a team at home I've already beaten twice, including on the road.

ya im not as negative as other posters about our chances in the playoffs this year...ive said it before, but the AFC is wide open for the Patriots...if theres any year to win it with a defense like we have this is the year. there is no QB in the AFC right now who can effectively exploit our secondary. Sanchez, palmer? a game with the Ravens really depends on our offense vs their defense. and the Steelers have always been a good matchup for us. .sure they beat us earlier in teh season but Im not sure they can beat us twice.

At first I thought they may go 3-2 down the stretch in the last 5, but now I'm thinking they only lose once.

I hope to hell they don't get in. I am not sharing this extreme amount of confidence that everyone else is about the possibility of meeting them for a 3rd time.

That would be just like the NYJ. Lose to us 2x in the regular season, and then prove that it never really meant crap to begin with.

I never felt they were out of the playoffs. Look at their schedule post-Pats game versus that of the other potential final wild card teams. Reports of their death were wildly exaggerated.

It will depend on their 2 games: Eagles and Giants.

Vick will be back for Eagles, and Giants will be tough game.

San Angelo "I'm Not a Jets Troll" State.

Your Jets are awful. I watched the Skins-Jets game today and was astounded at the minor league level of play. The Jets have nothing to scare the Pats with. Nothing.

The only two teams that legitimately worry me in the playoffs are Baltimore and Pittsburgh.

Your Jets aren't even in the conversation.

The Giants are on the brink. If they lose again, then I see them packing it in and waving bye bye to TC at the end of the year. I hate the Jets as much as the next guy, but they probably aren't losing at home to KC next week, the Eagles look DOA and the Giants may have packed it in by the time they play. That leaves Miami in Miami.

I just used the ESPN Playoff Machine, and I'm not feeling so good about our next 3 games:

@Redskins: Shanahan owns us.
@Tebows: Tebow will find a way to pull a win out of his ass (Tebows)
Dolphins: Dolphins could easily pull off the upset.

I see us going 10-6 and getting the 4 seed, beating the #5 Steelers and then losing to the #1 Ravens. Jets are going to have a hard time down the stretch as well. I predict they go 8-8 and out of the playoffs.

I don't know. The Chiefs' defense has come alive in recent weeks. They played the Steelers down to the wire and beat the Bears who are playing for their playoff life (granted they don't have Cutler and Forte went out during the game). The Jets better not sleep on them because they could pull of an upset.

Unless the Eagles really packed it in and just didn't collapse because of a short week on Thursday, the Eagles could play the Jets tough too if Vick and Maclin are back by then.

I still see any game left on their schedule a loss except for the Eagles if they really have quit on Andy Reid.

That is certainly possible. Anything is possible; any given Sunday, injuries, etc.

Though I did get a bit of a laugh reading your comment, and then your signature:

Patriots are going 13-3. Prove me wrong.

10-6?!? Really? The Pats have three losses all season and you expect them to go 1-3 the rest of the way with only one team with a winning record on their schedule.

The worst the Pats go is 2-2 and that is not really realistic. My guess is that they go 4-0.
