They are meaningless, but the fact is they are not tied, they are number one.

and I didnt read the threads, these days all I do is hop to the end of threads to see what kind of argument has developed.

To be completely fair, aren't they actually second? Behind Buffalo, due to losing to them?

I was under the assumption that they were between BUF and the NYJ, technically coming in 2nd at the moment...not that it hardly matters at this point anyway.

Unless maybe BUF only played 2 AFCE games, and are only 1-1, rather than 2-1 like the other 2 teams--that's the only way I could see them being below us.

No, the fact is that they are tied for the lead. They, along with two other teams, are 5-3. It's a 3-way tie for the division lead. And, again, you're harping on something that was just a quote back from the poster I was responding to. If you have any further issue about the current rankings of the AFCE, take it up with him.

Pats are on top. They hold the tie breaker over the Jets due to head to head and over the bills due to a better win percentage in the division.

There is no tiebreaker. The season is not over. They are 5-3, one of 3 teams with the same record and tied for first in the division. What you are talking about is the mythical "if the season ended today". That's fine, but it's meaningless.

As I said, take this up with the original poster.

I do find it funny that you're whining on other threads about the state of the site, yet here you are playing this ridiculous game. Perhaps Alanis Morissette should pen a new version of her song.....

NO, the fact is they hold the tie breaker and thats all there is to it..no matter how many times you post that its not not true, it will not change.

and, I was talking about the negativity around here on other threads...saying the pats are on top is not negative..if you dont understand that, perhaps Green Day should pen a new version of Basket case.

They don't hold the tiebreaker, because all the games that would go into determining the tiebreaker have not been played. Again, you're talking about the mythical "if the season ended today". That's fine, but it's not what the poster I responded to had included in their post.

And if you don't think the stupidity that is your argument is a "negativity" when you didn't bother reading what was being discussed before making a silly intrusion into it, you're welcome to continue posting this crap. You'll have to do it with someone else, though, because I'm bored with it.

On NFL Network Instant Replay last night they showed the Pats-Giants game and had audio of Brady sitting on the bench yelling at Ochocinco. I was ready for him to get ripped but Brady said "Keep working hard. You're doing fine. Keep working." Blew me away.

They believe in this guy. It would be nice if it clicked. The Patriots need a wrinkle on offense that pulls the safeties to the sidelines the way Branch does, and a guy they can trust running between the linebackers and the safeties to open up the middle a little more.

Is there video of this online anywhere? I've been looking for it but to no avail.

I know it's nothing more than you described above but I'm still interested in viewing it! Thanks in advance if you have any info!

Wow, I'm pretty blown away too. If that what I thought it was, I thought Brady was reaming him a new one. Just goes to show you that what you see isn't the whole story.

I'd like to see this too. I assume you mean NFL replay? Since it was a close game, i'n not surprised it was one of the featured games.

They don't hold the tiebreaker, because all the games that would go into determining the tiebreaker have not been played.

Not to quibble with a PKD fan, but you can't then say the Pats are 'tied' with other teams for first place either, since the only way in which wins and losses matter is when they are totaled at the end of the season, and by your own standards 'all of the games...have not been played.' It's all equally arbitrary. And it is undeniably better to be a 'half-game' up in the middle of the season than a 'half-game' down when speaking of playoff hopes.

The issue of "lead" is about record, which fluctuate only with the actual wins and losses of the teams involved. The issue of "tiebreaker" is about schedule matchups and win/loss breakdown, which fluctuates with every game in the league. As I said to Sivy, if he wishes to use the tiebreaker, which can only be finally determined after all games have been played, he's welcome to do so. The poster to whom I was responding, however, talked about how the Patriots would have been in the lead, meaning either an error on his part (if he was using tiebreaker) or the understanding that it was about record. Therefore, my use of it was not arbitrary, but was a direct response to the poster. Sivy's interjection was really an irrelevancy, since the poster's point was about the wins/losses of the Patriots, and not the impact of a victory or loss to a team from another division or conference.

no video of it, but I found an article with Bradys quote to Ocho on the sidelines.

Brady reassures Ochocinco: “You’re doing good” | ProFootballTalk

kind of surprised me as well, because I for sure thought he was reaming Ocho out when they showed the clip during the game. I hope they really are close because right now we really need Ocho's skillset to open up this passing game

Like I said in the other thread, despite another 0 catch game the fact that Brady continued going to him in key situations is a great sign for 85. I'm willing to be a little more patient with this.

If we can get past the Jets our schedule gets much easier, especially after Philly. Should be plenty chances to experiment

Thanks for looking Wanted to see the video and hear it, not that it's going to be any different than what I've read I suppose. I guess it shouldn't really make. A difference haha, but thanks again....

"We're working on it"

I didn't think Tom Brady would help Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson with his retirement papers.

I just hope Brady/Ochocinco can build on last weeks game and he/brady can finally start to connect on passes....because like Bedard said Ocho offers a certain skillset on the sidelines that can really help them execute their offense the way they want to.

Jet week might not be the week to get it going though.:nono:
