I'm Afraid Haynesworth Just Made Me Giddy

Damn, that could be an absolutely brutal lineup. I just don't see Haynesworth getting to 3 down, or maybe even 2 down, playing shape. It's possible, but I was really disappointed with his progress in Game 4.

Progress from what??????

I think he will do fine...nothing beats in game conditioning...We have a good rotation of guys so ...I think he will do fine ...

All opposing QBs will hear, Fe Fi Fo --HFumble....

Progress towards being in shape. He showed he was in terrible shape in that game. He was getting severely gassed after 2-3 plays and getting pushed around.

So, in progress towards being in good shape (for a 330 pound guy) he's about 20% of the way there. I was hoping for at least 50%. You know, like he could at least stay on the field for half of a drive.

the only important thing is for him to become a 3 down player by the playoffs.
I dont care what kind of shape he's in right now -- he seems like he's now motivated and he'll have 4 months to improve conditioning (if he needs to).

That's clearly his goal. If it isn't, someone needs to whack him in the head with a 2x4.

If he's in great shape he's the best interior lineman in the NFL.

its gonna take more than talk from albert to get me giddy

You must have watched a different game. While he was getting "gassed" after 2-3 plays, he was pretty dominant the time he played. Pushed around?? Umm.. no..

Did you stop to think that maybe your expectations are what is the problem and not where Haynesworth is at???

I don't get the criticism of Albert either...the guy was absolutely lost on the Redskins. Against the giants he had a few flashes that showed his potential. On other plays he was often double teamed. So far so good for a guy most considered a fat lazy slob...and we paid a 5th rounder for him. If i'm not mistaken our 5th rounder from this years draft is already gone from the team so if Albert doesn't work out it's not like we are losing a ****load of money or a high pick. Give him time and let him prove himself.

Your Fat, Lazy and only good for about 20% of the posts on this Board! Your message board conditioning is lacking, perhaps by the end of the season, when you can produce 3 to 4 responses in a thread, we will be happy to have you as a member, but right now... ehhh... you look old and fat and lazy.

That work for ya?

I've watched the Giants game twice and the biggest thing I noticed about Haynesworth is that he's slimmer than he was last year with the Redskins... Where as his belly used to clearly hide his belt, his belt was clearly visible..

You might have a career in the fashion industry

Albert Haynesworth ready for new chapter to begin - WEEI | Christopher Price

Now, after spending just over a month with Haynesworth as teammates in New England, Ellis is seeing his old friend emerge once again.

“He seems like he’s very relaxed,” Ellis said Thursday. “He’s ready to go play some ball.”

“Now, I’m back in it and am truly enjoying the game again, and I truly enjoy coming into practice or coming into work every day. Just to be able to have the chance again to play and to show what I can do is awesome,” Haynesworth said, “Now, I’m in this system and I’m playing and practicing and stuff, and I think it’s time for ... I guess, the sleeping giant to awake and to go back out there on my field and play football again.”

“He is a giant. He is a giant,” Ellis said with a laugh when asked about his 6-foot-6, 335-pound teammate. “Albert’s a pro. Pro’s adapt to whatever they have to go through. I think he’ll be all right.”

Nothing would make me happier than to see him play up to his talent all season long.

The one thing that bothered me about reading the articile is that he took no accountability for his actions and attitude while he was in that "unhappy" situation in Washington.

Some Redskins fans I know said that Haynesworth acted and said the same shortly after he was just signed by Washington

I really think a part of Haynesworth wants to be that all pro again,While part of him just wants a paycheck to go out and buy as many hamburgers as he can eat.

Its like the Devil on one shoulder and an Angel on the other and which shoulder side will Haynesworth turn his head to and listen.

This guy is as 50/50 and as risky as it gets but we didnt pay him $100M at least

I hope he destroys Henne, having him blow up the back field will do wonders for this defense.

That is going to be very scary.

I would totally agree, if they were all in their prime. Even so, you're not gonna run on them with Spikes and Mayo in the middle and on the edge. Not happening. I just hope the blitz packages and pressure up the middle will help the secondary settle in and not allow any big plays like last year.

And your last sentence is the key.

He's on a 1yr incentive laden contract. He's playing for his supper now. I live here in MD and I hear the same stuff from the Redskin fans. Poor souls, they don't know the difference. Obviously, Dan Snyder has never learned that either.
