Announced Patriots cuts: countdown to 53

You should aspire to the wisdom and humor that Patjew shows in almost every post, Solderking. If you manage that, then your posts will be as worth reading as his are.

My vote is with PatJew too. That was good. maybe you are confusing him with DaB...

Tate was supposedly the Moss replacement as a deep threat.. He had a few very good deep catches, but, that is offset by many other plays which he could not get open....

I don't think Tate was every annointed as Moss' replacement. The kid could run fast. Route running, creating seperation and losing his KR mojo were this downfalls

Price has the height and the hands to be a good 2nd WR. He just needs more time on the field. 1st year he was out. I hope he gets more snaps.....

I agree 100%. I love what I've seen from the kid. He has deceptive straight-line speed as well. I think he has a very bright future.

Ocho is yet to be seen... IMO..
Yea, he still needs to find his home in this offense. I don't think hes Joey Galloway or Donald Hayes yet, but I'm hopeful he'll be fine.

I also hope they leave 1 or 2 openings for pickups/trade..

I really won't be suprised by this. With 2 or so players that need to be cut, I'm sure that they are trying to make some deals and perhaps look at who also has been let go by other teams.

I think Mr. Hightop Fade just might make the practice squad. If anyone forgets what he looks like, here is a picture of him:

hearing rumors that Butler is on the trade block.

Bedard and SMY tweets that Butler is "very much on trade block"

I haven't noticed it maybe once or twice. He has it out for me like Calciume does. I make good posts. Many of my older posts were poor I admit.

back to football

Butler has to be gone... Butler lapses too much in coverage and he is a far worse tackler than Samuel ever was. At least Asante made plays on ball. I was never impressed w/ Butler at all. His lack of physicality was a huge weakness and his coverage I have yet to see anything solid or decent.

Re: Announced cuts: countdown to 53

Well there you go, respond by making something up. Good job.
Here we go. You are trashing Butler and you have never seen him play.
Equally as accurate as your comment.

I guess you haven't found out how the internet works.

Come on. No matter the excuses you cant say corners played bad in a half of 2 completions. Thats just having a predetermined opinion and finding a way to fit it.
But, I'm speaking too much about this before watching

I'm a Butler fan so if anything I want the kid to succeed. If anything, the only predetermined opinion being shown is your reply to my post highlighted by the fact that you haven't even watched the game.

Andy, there's a case to be made that Butler wasn't really such a train wreck. One good example was a completion on something like 3 & 16 in Jax territory where the ball was thrown low and the receiver had to dive to the ground for it. Butler didn't challenge him at all, just sort of stood around and touched him dead...a yard shy of the 1st down. It looked awful, but it got the job done.

That said -- why on earth are you arguing about his play before you've even seen the game? Watch it first, then come back and argue!

As far as Merriweather getting cut, I guess we'll have to trust BB's judgement on this.

Not surprising in the least. The kid just hasn't been that great here.

Now that was funny.

Butler for a safety or late rd pick?

You almost never see a player for player trade. The trades we make today will probably be for late rounds of which we have none for next year, beyond the 3rd round, IIRC.

Looks like Molden is in.

Per shalisemyoung tweet.

hearing recently acquired DB Antwaun Molden is safe...BB complimentary of him after Giants game

Watching the replay on NFLN, I see that Molden brings a physicality that Butler doesn't. Not afraid to deliver a nasty hit (prevented a first down). He also has the strength to disrupt receivers off the line, is able to strong arm them and generally hassle them (while keeping up with them). Also bigger and heavier.

exactly that is why Butler is gone... He was an inferior physical DB that would almost always get teat. I like guys that can make some contact to slow down the receiver in 1st 5 yards and I certainly like the CB that can actually tackle. It will be a nice change having Butler gone

those damn Connecticut boys busted in that draft... the Indy RB and butler... or was that 2 separate drafts?
