What a complete, utter over reaction!

Tom Brady and Chad have yet to develop any kind of chemistry. Reminds me of Brady/Galloway a couple of years ago.

Great comparison. I haven't seen anything yet either. It figures Wes gets hurt-a player with REAL heart and plays hard. I don't see Chad giving 100%-but then again its still early.

Based off of a preseason game. It's comical.

I have have heard individuals claim Tom Brady can't cut it under pressure and then compare this loss to the likes of current playoff defeats. Lets not forget the refs are out to get us according to some. And Chad isn't a capable NFL receiver.

BTW Welker has just been IR'D along with JE. Woodhead is now the slot receiver.:bricks:

That was the worst REF crew I've seen in a while. They should all be fired. I watched the tape again and this is undeniable-granted we played like ****t

I don't think Chad "gets it", that injects an element of indecision in him on the field which is palpable. Because of his effort and desire to learn, he's no Galloway, but he may not see the field much the first few games of the season as he tries to catch up.

How is it idiocy?

Am I wrong?

Well... your choice in a team to root for certainly means you have to meet a high standard to get respectful attention around here. That criteria includes well thought out analysis, and avoiding taunts and insults.

Based on what I've seen here, it's strike two.

He isn't looking for respect. He's looking for attention and to rile things up. Ignore him.

It is what it is...

It's funny how you have a pro Patriot spin for everything, but the Jets only looked average.

So is it only pre-season for the Jets? I thought their offense overall, not JUST the last drive last week in the first half, they were impressive, especially when you consider they were without Green, their starting RG, and it was Plax' first game, funny how that didn't get added into your analysis. You're quick to make sure you let everyone know that the Lions had Suh, Fairly and Vandenbosh playing, even though they only had Suh playing...

Pats got punched in the mouth, period. That cloud Pats fans were on, has exploded. Of course, it's just pre-season, but seeing the OL play and some of the injuries the Pats have been dealt, the Pats are certainly not the team that will run away with the division that some thought they would be before tonight's game.

We did get punched in the mouth. What's worse, we didn't respond. There were some here who weren't drinking the koolaide.

Really? So when it was reported that the Pats played up tempo and threw a lot of screen passes last week against the Bucs, and prompted some responses from Bucs players that they were playing as if it were the playoffs, I'm pretty sure Pats fans had quite a bit to say about that, and probably rightfully so...

Why does that change this week?

It doesn't. You play hard no matter what it is. I can accept a loss. I was just as big a fan when we were the worst team in the league. What I hate is a lack of effort and passion among some players. In the words of Herm Edwards, "...I don't care if you don't have any wins. You go play to win"

Why do we have to ignore people with opposing views? From my point of view, he seems to be making some legitimate points.

I don't see any comparisons. By all accounts, Galloway didn't want to put in the effort in learning the playbook, presnap reads, and route adjustments. OchoCinco has been busting his arse trying to learn it. Galloway had the offseason to learn the playbook and develop a rapport with Brady (he signed with the Pats on March 14, 2009). Ochocinco has had a month.

It is unfair to Ochocinco to compare him to Galloway. Galloway had five and a half months to develop a rapport with Brady. Ochocinco has had four weeks.

Agreed that you can't compare WRs and their ability to get things down with Brady.

Galloway had five and a half months.

Moss had ZERO pre-season games and still was an immediate impact.

I'm hoping that Brady and Chad are saving anything other than vanilla for the real games - but my original concerns about Johnson's lack of deep threat ability from last year remain.

some thing needs to be done for this Brady Kryptonite AKA interior pass rush. This has repeatedly haunted us in the games that really mattered, also the one that really don't like yesterday.

But this has been staring us in the face for quite some time now...

Hope BB had enough of this ...

Agreed (though I don't like joking about Welker's injury)

For me - aside from injuries - I kindof prefer to see them get a wake up call in the pre-season.

Dominant play at all times is nice - but unrealistic. Better that they remember the sour taste this pre-season game left in their throat.

Eh...you had to take anything Herm ever said with a grain of salt.

Brady talked last night about what he thinks sets Belichick apart. He doesn't ride the wave of emotion. Neither does his team. We're great, we suck, we're great, we suck... Most fans here are wave riders... In NY the HC is. He tries to use emotion to fuel his team. The risk you run when you take that approach is your sea going flat as glass because despite your prediction of the big wave building just beyond the horizen - it never materializes...

...

Do you mean 'injured'????

I was shocked thinking that Welker has been placed on 'IR" - Injured Reserve - and had to search the other sites, which did not mention anything on it.

Jeez, I hate these random twitter abbreviations when used in a subject that has other meanings for such abbreviations.

Apparently your sarcasm meter is malfunctioning...

Whatever. It was the same thing last week after this team crushed Tampa Bay. Everyone was talking how this team is going to kill everyone with the new look attacking defense. Everyone should know by now that it's just inherent to the sports fan that we get too high when the team does well and too low when they do poorly. That's just the way it is.

I agree with the people who are saying that it doesn't matter to them that the team lost. What was bothersome to them (and me) was that it looked like the Pats weren't really trying that hard at times. That could be why there were so many injuries. Another thing that concerns me a bit is that Chad just doesn't look like he's moving in the right direction. He looks utterly lost in this offense at this point.

I don't think I'd call my self a wave rider. I enjoy watching the Pats, even when they play like this. Call Rex emotional, but he's been getting the best of us in the playoffs. They seem to play hard for him.

I think part of the problem is with Brady. I've been saying it for a while. He needs to stop sitting on the bench with that look on his face and start firing some people up like the young Brady.

I agree with the overreaction. IMO the team needed a real butt kicking so that they get a sense of reality. The young kids have not experienced what it's like to go through tough times, like most of the veterans. The team now knows it cannot get complacent against any opponent. The loss will serve them well throughout the season. I still think an additional loss towards the end of last season (e.g., think green bay game) would have been beneficial to the team as it got ready for the playoffs. There was a false aura of invincibility on this team, mostly because of media over-hyping the wins against jax and TB.

Deep threat this, Deep threat that. I'm sick of hearing about it. Until they put an O-Line in front of Brady that can BLOCK, there will be no need for a deep threat on this team.

That game last night disgusted me. Not because they lost, but because they didn't compete at all. They got pushed around all night.

Agreed. It's better that this happens in week 3 of the preseason and not week 3 of the regular season. Along with the fact that Detroit did impress last night and will win 9-11 games this year. Although, I hope they don't put any stock into the outcome and assume it will carry over into the regular season. Stafford looks to be a good QB, but that too can change in a hurry if he thinks this is how things will go in the regular season.
