So anyways Sheard and Reed go off the board early. I think we might look at Allen Bailey from the U now. It also wouldn't shock me to see us go with an OG here.

Wow, Reed and Barwin on the same team...Some board members are gonna become Texans fans...;)
As nice as that is for the Texans their defensive backs are still abysmal. Pass rush doesn't get to the QB every play.

Honestly how many defensive backs does this team need? What is the current count?

McCourtey
Bodden
Arrington
Butler -failed second rounder
Whilite-failed second rounder
Wheately-oops he is already gone, failed third rounder
and now Dowling-an injuried soon to be failed second rounder

Chung
Merriweahter
Sanders
McGowan
Tate
plus the guy they took from Denver last year

and I know I'm missing a few.

Pass Rushers: None.

Wheatley was a second rounder and Wilhite was a 4th rounder. At least get your facts straight if you're going to complain about the pick.

Also, Wilhite hasn't failed...he's been a good slot corner for a 4th round pick. Butler hasn't yet either...last year he struggled at times, but was more often than not in good position. He just wasn't able to always make the correct play on the ball.

Dowling's pick allows the DBs to become more flexible, especially if he plays a similar role by switching between CB and S like Chung did last year. It will allow the team to disguise coverages and DB blitzes in addition to gputting another guy back there that can actually cover. It also covers your backside during the game if someone gets injured.

Of that list of DBs, McGowan is the one that I'd think of as the odd man out. He was hurt last year and fell out of favor the year before. Plus Chung, Page, Sanders, Merriweather, McCourty, Bodden, Arrington, Butler, and Wilhite all seem to have a role on the team.

Putting pressure on the QB isnt important apparently

you didn't want him? Who are you hoping for pass rush?(Honest question, not attacking you or anything).

Fair question, sir!!

I LOVE Brooks Reed...but I think he's a 5th Round talent and a VERY limited player.

As for who's gonna rush the passer, I share your concerns.

I just would've hated THAT move.

I'm still praying for KENRICK ELLIS, baby!! :rocker:

I'll save you room next to me.. There's still more room on the wagon for people who are pissed at the draft..

haha, unless they do something in FA/trading if that happens...:( Oh well apparently we can mask that with an injury prone secondary.

Rudolph goes to the Vikings, so some in fear of the TE pick can rest easy now. :)

No need to sweat it. There are still a bunch of guys still on the board and free agency is still to come. Let's wait before jumping off the bridge because BB didn't end up taking the well-known DE/OLB.

Titus Young @ 44 to Detroit.

We don't need no stinkin pass rush.

Winners collect draft picks.
You can't have your pick and use it too.

Lmao, honestly though gonna be pissed if Reed becomes the next mathews. Wish we got a mediocre team's 1st instead of the saints =/.

Give me some of that

IF Butler is not a failed pick, why have they drafted CBs at #29 and #33????
This picks screams that Butler is a failed pick, next to whilite and wheatley, they have a better batting average with the UDFAs

Brooks Reed is 6'2" isn't the prototypical OLB for the Pats D in the 6'4" 6'5" range and weighs 250 or better?
