Yeah, I do. Meriweather is going to be after money and I think that Dowling is a better fit given the coverage complexities. He potentially can fit in on the outside as well as I think he's strong enough to be a good x defender. Best fit in my opinion is at safety though.

I think Sanders is the odd man out.

Interesting that Buffalo went for CB,too(Williams) right after the pats.......kind of validates the pick,doesn't it?.......I bet the pats are going to give up a 3 or 4 to come into the 2nd rd again.

I'm starting to understand BB a little.....OT and CB trump just about everything but QB's.

As much as I like Dowling, I would be upset with taking another injured player - like Bowers. 2011 needs to produce something, otherwise this team just took a huge step back.

I'm offically pissed. We could have had Dowling much later in the 2nd round and could have traded out of the 33rd.

How do you know that he'd be available later on in the 2nd? Give us your source that he'd be available because I'd love to see what the rest of the draft is supposed to look like.

Will people really calm down. He must have been the best player on their board. Is BB supposed to not take the best player on his board if the Pats need to make a pick. Maybe BB would've have liked to have taken him later, but no one was offering enough for him to drop back. Or maybe its the fact that there are a bunch of DE/OLB left in the draft while the DB depth is extremely shallow.

where? they can have five, if the QB can stand back there he will pick them apart!!

Dowling has been hurt since High School, and now suddenly he is going to be OK??

McCourty played pretty well in a bad pass rushing defense last season. We've signed Marcus Stroud to help the line, Ty Warren is returning and Leigh Bodden is returning. I'm of the opinion that our defense is better already especially with the signing of a big, physical thumping cornerback/safety.

The only query I have is the injuries but I'm happy with what the Patriots are doing right now.

Yea, but would be nice to add at least one guy. You need studs are every corner spot though if you don't have a good pass rush though. Hopefully Ty is back to form and Stroud can play well. I wonder how far Bowers is going to fall.
