Mcshay just said he could slip into the 2nd round and should be a 3rd rounder said:
E Washington won the Div 2 championship this year. Or, whatever the hell they call it these days. Sub-division or something.

Football Championship Subdivision, the old 1-AA. They beat Villanova in the quarterfinal and Delaware in the final without Jones who was nursing an injury. Eastern Washington is slowly building a reputation as a small school football factory with the kids they send up each year to the draft, similar to Appalachian State and Hampton.

Good news Delone Carter fans, I'm hearing that the Patriots are taking a long look at this guy. Compact size: 5' 8 1/2", 222lb, combine measurables are positive, especially for his size, ball security a big plus.
Last year, I was told two things prior to the draft, the Pats loved Mathews...but SD leap frogged the board for him....and 2nd, Spikes would be a Patriot. This year, Redskins are trying to trade down with New England but want to much in return, and as expected BB is looking for a pass rusher.

Source(s)? I like the kid, so this is a positive development if verifiable.

Observation:

When your Offense is the Top rated Offense, and your Defense is not, you most likely don't spend high draft picks on the Offense...

Verifiable? I'll press record next time he/she/it appears from the shadows.

Anybody have positive thoughts about UConn's Jordan Todman in the third round? I like his speed and strength, even if he's undersized. Forty in 4.40 and 25 reps in the bench press. Jordan Todman Scouting Report - 2011 NFL Draft Prospect How do his other stats look?

The guy was productive when given the opportunity, and I like his attitude and intelligence more than the Virginia Tech player Tom Curran is all hot and bothered for.

I love Kevin Faulk, but I don't see him playing much more.

You heard it here first: someone is going to draft Taiwan Jones in the first round. That sounds crazy, but after that pro day, there's no more bargain shopping for this kid.

i dont think first round. but late 2nd early 3rd sounds right. the only knock or knocks on the kid is he has had a decent amount of injuries in college and he fumbles....alot. 18 fumbles in 3 years. he lost 8 of them. fumbling can be corrected though. injuries...who knows..

First off, what do consider a 'high draft pick?' I consider a high pick through the first 2 rounds, but everyone will likely be slightly different. Secondly, is this a prediction from you? In your opinion, there will not be a higher type offensive pick this year? Because I will take that action all day long, especially if we're on the same page with what we consider 'high.'

Not sure if you realize, but since 2006 (Maroney/Jackson debacle) this team has taken like 13 out of their first 14 total picks on the defensive side of the ball. The only exception to this was the choice of Gronkowski last year in the 2nd round. Do you see this remarkable trend continuing, and if so for how long? We have obvious issues (considering that we are protecting our #1 investment and the ONLY player that cannot be replaced) on the O-line, and could certainly use a breakaway player in the skill positions--especially considering their future impact. In order to have this team remain elite, they will certainly need to address the other side of the ball also.

While your observation has obvious common sense, there is another angle to the equation. I believe there has to be proper balance too, or you won't have that 30+ ppg scoring. After a 14-2 year, we should have more of a luxury in this draft then some people actually realize. Yes we need a high pick or even 2 on the defensive front 7, but that certainly is not all.

For someone like Belichick who looks ahead for yrs to come, I greatly suspect that a pick within the first 2 rds on offense is pretty much a given.

Well, if it's one of your old drinking buddies from behind the Carrier Dome then of course he/she/it is legitimate, I just thought it might be a media source which immediately downgrades the information by a significant factor.

Unless, of course, one believes that the best way to hide your defensive deficiencies is to keep them on the sidelines. The recent playoff losses are at least partially attributable to the offense not being able to convert 3rd downs and stay on the field. If the value is on the offensive side of the ball when the Patriots pick comes up, they should draft an offensive player.

I offer the same spiel to those who think trading for Larry Fitzgerald is a bad idea, since our defense is a worse unit than our offense.

I don't think there's any urgency in bringing in an immediate Faulk replacement, because Faulk will be willing, ready, and able next season, and Woodhead is of course here as well.

There is of course urgency to replace Taylor, but I think a rookie can and will do that.

I think Faulk will be on the roster in part because I expect the RB group to be young otherwise.

I don't know -- Todman actually reminds me a little of the other UConn back, Donald Brown. He's maybe a little tougher, but I'm with Curran on this one. Ryan Williams looks like he has the potential to be a special back, whereas I don't see it with Todman.

Yes, I think you're onto something with Jordan Todman: Great Pad Level, excellent Burst, nice Fluidity, superior Flanking Speed. I particularly like his Navigational skills: he runs with Vision and Patience.

Not a very accomplished Blocker, but good Receiving skills.

His Estimated Market Value looks to be in the later 3rd Round, and if we were to hit on him, there, I'd be happy, though he's I'd probably rather scoop up Taiwan Jones a bit earlier.

Can't argue with that. Ryan Williams is a exceptionally dangerous Bruiser, though I'd rather not invest in Running Back in the middle of the 2nd Rounder ~ his EMV.

I can envision us bringing in two kids this offseason.. Seems like real value between rounds 2-4

Absolutely spot on.

A D's best friend is an Offense that Moves The Chains and Controls the Ball.

What are people's thoughts on Demarco Murray, RB, Oklahoma? He seems like a boom-bust type of player. He is the successor of Adrian Peterson.

From what I've seen he is kind of injury prone, and from what I've read he tends to run high, and has what some perceive as not so great balance and sturdiness etc.

I agree that he may end up being an okay mid rd RB, but I think there are much better choices to be honest.
