AFC Championship Game: Jets at Steelers

I see your reading comprehension skills are once again woefully terrible...

Are you even half way serious? Our 45 point game was due to running the ball down their throat and not trying to pass?

Quote for me where I said the above. You can't? Well that's because I didn't say that. What I DID say was that it would have been beneficial to the best offense of the year to be multi-dimensional and lean on the run a little bit more than we did, like we did in the 45-3 game. How you read that and got "Our 45 point game was due to running the ball down their throat and not trying to pass?", I have no clue.

Remember, in our first two drives, we ran and passed balanced. We didn't score.

There were also other drives where we ran and passed balanced and DID score, so I'm not sure where you're trying to go with that. In the playoffs, against a good defense, you NEVER go one dimensional. The only time you do that is if your RB goes out of the game with a game-ending injury and you have the WR's to do that. In this case, neither happened to the Pats and it cost them.

I'll just drop it. Absurd. We were balanced both two starting drives. First game, we scored ten points, then scored a touchdown and went up 17-0.

Last week, we threw an INT, then had a dropped TD pass and were soon behind 7-3, which is just like being ahead 17-0?

Rex Ryan...OK we're up 7-3, don't worry about those receivers, that Brady guy can't beat us, just don't let BJGE beat us!

Brady is at his best when the running game is going. With that in mind, why would anybody in their right mind want the team to go one dimensional with Brady having the kind of game he was having (a bad one by his standards) and the receivers unable to get separation from the Jets defense. Once again, BJGE was averaging almost 5 YPC. Why wouldn't you want to see a more balanced offense when the Jets are in nickel and daring you to run the ball more? It's completely mind boggling.

Sanchez has been masterful in this 2nd half, other than injuring his own center just now.

Man, if the Jets win this game, I am going to be sick. Can't believe the Pats are not here.

Manboobs is down

I'm starting to feel bad that, when asked this morning, I said I was rooting for injuries.

I didn't mean it, but damn.

I am telling you. The JETs will win this game.

I think they will if they score here. Their O-Line is absolutely manhandling the Steelers' D-Line and their D-Line is manhandling Pittsburgh's O-Line without Pouncey. But Nick Mangold just went out with a leg injury, so that might be good news.

And Sanchez just took out his Pro Bowl center.

Just when you thought he couldn't get any worse...

Mangold is out. That is gigantic. That is a game-changer.

We ran the ball the first two drives yesterday. A balanced offense, that blew the opportunities.

This is so simple, I'm not going there again. When Corey Dillon runs against stacked defenses his entire career at Cincinnati and averages over 4 yards a carry, it is not the same as a UDFA running back following his blockers against defenses that are all 100% (or more) keying on future Hall of famer Brady, they are not running the same, even if your stat sheet indicates they are statistically exactly the same.

Ok, so you're saying that BJGE racks up yards not because he is good but because defenses focus on Brady and the Patriots passing attack?

So if the Jets were selling out against the pass even more than other teams do why shouldn't we ran the ball?

Koppen is going to the PRO Bowl now!

considering how the yr has gone for the jets, they are going to win this game

It doesn't matter that BJGE is a UDFA. He has great vision and cuts as a RB. I watched the Patriots a few times from the end zone this year, and on their stretch plays, you could see BJGE make some amazing decisions and always pick up a chunk of yards. Not many RBs do that, or can do that.

Corey Dillon is a different cat altogether. Border line HOF. BJGE is not Corey, but he's better than a lot of backs that people are putting ahead of him.

How are the Steelers winning this game?

It isn't that bad though. The Jets still need two TDs with not a lot time left. Granted if the Steelers keep on giving the game away, they might have plenty of time.

As bad as the Steelers are playing right now, they were outplaying the Jets by that much in the first half

Way to injure your own center. What an idiot.

I guess that is poetic justice

Manchild out. Start fitting those rings for the cheeseheads.
