Reiss: McKenzie released (for real)

Re: Reiss: McKenzie released (for real).

Good luck to him. I hope he does well except when he plays the Patriots.

I was really high on Spikes before the draft and it looks like that pick is paying off.

As many of the other posters have already said, this seems to be a very high character young man with great upside. I remember reading how he bounced from college to college to get closer to his mom who was battling serious health problems and that he was a leader at each program.

BB loved this guy's motor and smarts and made special mention of him last year regarding players whom he has admired - - putting him in the company of actual NFL veterans when it came to football character - -that was eye opening.

I will be rooting for him. This is the kind of person everyone should root for.

why sign wheatley to the practice squad?

if he couldn't put it together as a full-time member of the regular roster, there is no point.

Wheatly as a practice body who does not need to be told where the rest room is.

I agree, just move on. As far as McKenzie, I liked the pick at the time but with Spikes being drafted and Fletcher outplaying him, he didn't have a spot. Spikes is already a player and you can tell Fletcher will be a good one.

What ever. All of you who wish him the best because of his great "quality character" need to get a grip!
The guy clearly isn't willing to pay his dues, and be loyal to the team who took a chance on him. Instead he tells them I don't want want to be anymore because it's to hard to crack your starting lineup. And yet you still praise the kid! Honestly I don't know if this a Patriot forum, or a player forum with all the **** washing that goes on, with players who are deemed expendable or just flat out don't deserve to be here!
Sorry, but I could care less about the outcome of a player who asks for his release from the greatest franchise in the NFL! It is what it is, and peace out draft bust!

Re: Reiss: McKenzie released (for real).

Him asking to be released doesn't make a lot of sense unless he thinks some other team is more likely to elevate him from PS to roster after seeing him for a while.

Any team that thought he was worth a 53 man roster spot could sign him off the PS w/o the release.

This does allow him to sign to someone elses PS. But why?

Players signed off the practive squad have to be on the team's active roster that week. So, that might make signing him prohibative for a team.

The only *kind* of person I root for are the ones wearing the Patriots uniform.

I use to root for him. He asked that I stop rooting for him. So I am stopping.

This post is so much better if you imagine Carl from Aqua Teen is speaking it.

You clearly are suffering from a cranial/rectal inversion. I'm not sure where you've been, but the guy has been paying his dues every week. And any INTELLIGENT player can look around and see that there are team who have suffered injuries at MLB and could use a guy like him, but he's unable to work out for them so he'd have a chance to sign.

Also, the Patriots didn't have to grant his release. They could have kept him, but they didn't. Which means there is no animosity from them. You having animosity towards him is a joke and shows that you are the one with the problem.

As for this forum, you don't have to be here. If you don't like what you're seeing, then go somewhere else. I'm sure there would be plenty of people applauding the move.

You know this how? Would you say this to his face if he were in a room with you? If not, cowardly.

My hunch is that this is geographic. His family is important to him, and have in the past needed his presence. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in the NFC South.

Not necessarily. As WW has pointed out, there is a sign in the locker room "you don't have to be here if you don't want to be."

Kid didn't want to be on the team, little point in BB wasting PS spot on someone who doesn't want to be on the team. So good riddence. Just like with Moss. Neither wanted to be on the team...so they are gone. One has come to realize that you should be careful what you ask for 'cause you might get it. The other may feel the same way pretty soon.

But I sure as heck ain't rooting for him. I root for the New England Patriots. Not ex-Patriots that wanted out and got their wish.

I hope Ty MacK has a great career sorry it won't be in NE. Sad to see Wheatly get cut he looked really good as a rookie and then his career has been taken off the tracks by injury. If he can get healthy would like to see him get a shot again.

Amen.

I root for the laundry, not for those who don't wear my laundry,
unless they're playing against the PitsDirt Squealers, the Indy Clots or the NJ J-e-s-t.

As for McK himself, I still had hopes that he would replace the degenerating Guyton next year.
If he ends up playing for the Doofins instead, I will be highly pissed-off.

Good luck to him.

Um -- how does he know other teams are interested in having him work out for them?

Any team could have signed him off the practice squad. Maybe he wants to play in the UFL?

Some real classy specimens of life in here.

Not.

LOL!!!- Typical irrelevant DB garbage...as usual.
As for your response I would expect no less, and really couldn't possibly care any less of what your thoughts are.
Yeah, I'm sure BB is just glowing with happiness that he threw another 3rd round pick away on guy who asks to be let go to play elsewhere. Certainly no animosity...I'm sure.
