if he couldn't put it together as a full-time member of the regular roster, there is no point.

Him asking to be released doesn't make a lot of sense unless he thinks some other team is more likely to elevate him from PS to roster after seeing him for a while.
Any team that thought he was worth a 53 man roster spot could sign him off the PS w/o the release.
This does allow him to sign to someone elses PS. But why?
I will be rooting for him. This is the kind of person everyone should root for.
What ever. All of you who wish him the best because of his great "quality character" need to get a grip!
The guy clearly isn't willing to pay his dues, and be loyal to the team who took a chance on him. Instead he tells them I don't want want to be anymore because it's to hard to crack your starting lineup. And yet you still praise the kid! Honestly I don't know if this a Patriot forum, or a player forum with all the **** washing that goes on, with players who are deemed expendable or just flat out don't deserve to be here!
Sorry, but I could care less about the outcome of a player who asks for his release from the greatest franchise in the NFL! It is what it is, and peace out draft bust!
This post is so much better if you imagine Carl from Aqua Teen is speaking it.

Also, the Patriots didn't have to grant his release. They could have kept him, but they didn't. Which means there is no animosity from them. You having animosity towards him is a joke and shows that you are the one with the problem.
The only *kind* of person I root for are the ones wearing the Patriots uniform.
I use to root for him. He asked that I stop rooting for him. So I am stopping.
You clearly are suffering from a cranial/rectal inversion. I'm not sure where you've been, but the guy has been paying his dues every week. And any INTELLIGENT player can look around and see that there are team who have suffered injuries at MLB and could use a guy like him, but he's unable to work out for them so he'd have a chance to sign.

As for this forum, you don't have to be here. If you don't like what you're seeing, then go somewhere else. I'm sure there would be plenty of people applauding the move.
