Offense looked bewildered most of the day, except that 3rd Q drive. Looked like a preseason offense, if that. I don't think our talent is so inferior to the SD defense. If so, that does point to a coaching issue. Haven't seen it before, so hopefully just a bad game.

Defense is certainly improving, esp against the run. No studs rushing the passer though, and still wide open spaces in our zones. I thought that McCourty and Arrington were pretty solid on the outside.

STs were okay. Gost hit the points, and Zolton handled the terrible snaps. What was up with that? Tate did nothing on KR, but Edelman had a great PR.

Bottom line: great to bring your "D" offense on the road and still come away with the W.

why would we want him back ... for what a year until he leaves again.

He should have stayed until he was ready ... he's a horses-ass.

Who says he wasn't ready??? BB seemed to think he was. BB gave him his blessing. Unlike what BB did with Mangini where BB tried to talk the Rat out of leaving.

Broncos are now 4 - 12 in their last 16 games.

I think they are actually 4-13 in their last 17 games now.

Not good.

But hey, Kyle Orton is a passing yardage fantasy star!!

I disagree. I think that the Pass Rush was doing an excellent job today. The only problem was the coverage wasn't sticking with the guys. I lost track of how many wide open players SD had underneath and how many times Rivers was able to hit them in under 5 seconds.

The Patriots allowed SD back into the game by going to the soft zone that Rivers was able to pick apart. Had the Pats continued with their tight coverage, there's no way that SD makes that drive at the end of the 3rd quarter.

compared to weis he was horrible (at running the ball)

This is simply not true -- aside from Dillion in 2004, which doesn't say much about Charlie.

2001 - 13th

2002 - 28th

2003 - 27th

I'd kill myself if he was brought back.

Do we play any other kind of zone? SD put a lot more pressure on Brady than we put on Rivers. I want that kind of pass rush.

Yes, they do. They play at least two different kinds of zone defense.

Two thoughts, Josh called the offense back when the Patriots had Reche freakin' Caldwell as the #1, and he called good games. So, yes, I'd love to see him return.

The Broncos sucking it up just goes to show some Patriot fans what might happen when the team gets rid of the old ball coach who has lost his fastball, and hires a young gun. Belichick and Shanahan should both leave the way Landry and Noll left.

I doubt he comes back, didn't Lebeau do something similar though? He took the bengals job got fired and came back?

Funny that LeBeau's the first name you think of. What about Bill Belichick? Left Parcells to take the Cleveland HC job, struggled, came back to Parcells, and eventually got a second shot as a HC which has worked out quite well.

I'd welcome Josh back. BOB has improved this season, but still not as good as the kid when he was here.

I wasn't a big fan, but he was a lot better than the glacial adjustments of our non coordinator.

Norv turner is a great offensive coordinator, a definite Peter Principle victim as a head coach, but i don't know what system he runs, nor what kind of a reception an outsider (horrors!) would get here.

Mcdaniels was a fantastic belichick disciple. i would take him back in a second.

If Denver was dumb enough to fire McDaniels, then I'd personally chip in a grand to the "bring him back as our OC" fund. I think it goes without saying that Bill O'Brien has inspired little confidence.

put the pipe down......

it ain't happening anytime soon

I would welcome Josh back instantly

how long of a pact does he have 5 years????

3 left???? he ain't getting fired.

Is there precedent for a coordinator leaving his team to be head coach of another, getting fired, and then immediately returning back to the team he left?

Odds are he'd take a coordinator job with a different NFL team, or take his shot at head coaching at the college level.

I'm pretty sure i know a D coordinator who left for an HC job, got canned, then went right back to working for the same head coach.

Different team though.

The guy is an awful head coach, he drove that organization into the ground.

Would I have him back? Sure. Do I think he'll come back? Nope. Do I think he's about to lose that locker room over there? Definitely.

The franchise was already in the ground when he got there.
