Because he tripped. Not because Cromartie got separation. Look at their legs and you will see that Moss tripped on Cromartie's leg and grabbed him as he was going down. Wasn't trying to tackle Cromartie.

The pass interference was called on the jersey yank, not the tripping. Very rarely does tripping get qualified as PI.

absolutely stupid going for 2 there. No reason to do it. now if the Jets get a TD and can now go for 2 and make it a 3 point game. If they kick the extra point the best the Jets can do is go up by 9 and a TD and FG wins the game.

I'm not saying that Cromartie should have gotten a PI call. I am saying that Gruden's ball washing of Cromartie on that play (and quite a bit of the night) was unwarranted.
