Patriots Player Departure Rumor: Moss to Vikings?

Status
Not open for further replies.
First thing you've said on the subject that's got any real validity, so I'll leave it at that.

So you say absolutely nothing to support your argument, and then take a facetious statement from me and claim victory? Typical. Why I bother talking to you or reading what you write is beyond me.

I have a funny feeling that we JUST might be able to wangle a 1st Rounder out'f'm!!

THAT...would be IMMENSELY cool.

Better chance of Childress wearing a bra on the sidelines this sunday

Where's my @#$%&ing Set of Steak Knives??

Realistically we probably won't be able to get more than a 2nd, but Winfield and a late rounder isn't enough compensation for a first ballot hall of famer deep threat.

We'll have to agree to disagree on Greenway. Yes, Winfield is in the waning years of his career, but he is better than what we have at CB and he would help a lot, and moss for him straight up, which is why I said a late round pick as well.

When did I say anything about Tate? Seems regardless of who we trade for we will have a gaping hole at #1, no? They are not going to trade Rice and if they did he is weeks away from practicing let a lone playing and learning a new system. The trade will most likely be for a pick any how so the trade most likely won't address any of those needs immediately anyway.

I'm not sold on Edwards, doubt they would trade Henderson, either block in the William's wall or Allen. That doesn't leave much to hope for on their D.

In other words we get crap in return and create a gaping hole on offense. There better be a lotta draft compensation coming back in return and a good player or two.

Greenway has produced 6 sacks in 4 years. At 6-2, 240, he is also too small and too short to play OLB for the Pats. Greenway is NOT the answer to ANYTHING for the Pats. He's crappy at rushing the passer and too small to set the edge against the run for us. He's CRAP for the Pats 3-4 system - Period. There's a reason they didn't draft him. You don't trade a HOF offensive threat for mediocre at best talent!

If they are getting a defensive piece in return, the Pats need a DE or OLB who can get after the damn QB. Add as many CBs as you want, if you can't get to the QB any CB you have back there will look bad.

We aren't the ones desperate to trade him...Minnesota will have to give the Pats a good deal to get Moss... lmao if he's only worth a 3rd, why not just trade him to the Browns or Lions?

And yup I have no clue what I am talking about on Johnson, yet you've said 0 to support your argument.
How do you go from Moss to the Vikings to Derrick Johnson? And BTW, Johnson is a loser.

It's too bad Moss will probably get traded, but I think it will help Brady in the long run. Moss's presence was causing Brady to lock in on him too much which ended up losing games for the Pats. I'm going to miss Moss and I actually hope this deal doesn't go through, but it's a good move if the Pats can get some value.

However, anything less than a 2nd round pick is pointless because they would receive a comp 3 pick when he departs in FA.

1st or 2nd in 2011 or it's another dumb move.

I wasn't "claiming victory". I was ending the discussion. If you actually think that citing to numbers for Johnson somehow made him a good player, there's no use discussing it with you. Prior to this season, he was considered a huge disappointment who missed tackles as often as he made them. Somehow, you feel that's "just fine". Ok, end of discussion.

Moss for a 3rd is illogical

Just think for a second, if the Best WR of all time is only for sale for 3rd, why trade him to a good team when you can trade him to a terrible team who has a higher pick and wont threated any team?

I'm not calling it LIKELY...

But don't be so dead certain.

Moss has been very professional, and has repeatedly stated, in public, that he's not mad, he understands the Patriots' position, and is simply trying to work his own scene out.

In other words: The Patriots are not in Manny Ramirez Mode.

The Vikings initiated these trade talks, my friend.

A 1st Rounder is a possibility.

I'm not saying you're right or wrong, because I'm trying not to focus too much on this until it happens (or not), but let me pose a question:

If Minnesota wouldn't offer a first for Jackson, what is the difference that makes you think they'll offer one for Moss?

I think it will be for just a second rounder in 2011 or 2012

I can expect a lot of fans to be mailing in this season if what I expect happens

I really doubt NE gets a Vikings player out of this,it going to be a future draft pick which BB has had a bad habit of hoarding lately

6 hours 57 minutes - this has got to be a record.

When Tommy knocked up that B rate actress or the Herald published the Rams SB walkthrough tape, it took days to get to 1000.

Because Moss is better? and isn't suspended or has a DUI? Same reason why Ricky Williams wasn't picked in the first

Sadly, NO.

1000th post on this THREAD, my friend. Are YOU drinking??

LOVE the Avatar, by the way.

Again: because of his age the best comp pick possible for Moss is a 2012 fifth.

Interesting question. Mind if I answer? Moss does not carry the risk of having the hammer come down on him in the event of misconduct?

This is what I believe you guys will get.

2nd and a 3rd round pick and that's it. Vikings won't make a trade that includes a starter unless it's Bernard berrian. As a vikings fan we have the advantage because your head office wants him gone and a 2nd and 3rd will do. If they keep him they get a headache all season and nothing when he leaves.

let me say this again you will not get Jared allen or chad greenway under any circumstance.

Listening to reports on the NFl network this was a vikings driven trade not a request from moss or the patriots shopping him. What they said was the vikings have been after moss for weeks now
