Connolly played almost all of 5 games last season and there was no significant difference in our offense. The running game was similar to the other 11, the pass protection was similar as well.
Will him stepping in for Mankins instead of Neal change that? We don't know.
Will he be improved after playing 1/3 of the season with the 1s? We don't know.
I do know that we will have a professional football player at LG, one that BB and Scarnecchia feel is competant, and I am sure that a offense as good as we have can survive an OL holdout or injury without Brady getting put in the hospital.
To speak as if we have seen enough of Connolly to know what his play will be at this point is a guess, and what you will see is those who revel in ripping the team or BB will use this too tell us the sky is falling and those that do not like to face bad news will gloss in over.
The reality is probably the middle ground, just like last season when you lose a starter at G and replace them with their backup you will see sme degradation in the offense but nothing really significant.
So, go on everyone use Connolly a a catalyst for your agendas.
