He'll get it too. He's by far the best corner in the league. With that said, I laugh at the Jets 2011 salary cap as it sees a downward spiral. This is essentially a win-win. Either what I just mentioned happens or this turns into an ugly, nasty dispute between the two camps.

daryl revis is ok. i don't think he's that great. he's certainly no deion sanders or champ bailey. but it will be fun to see if revis can clean the jets' bank account.

While I'll disagree with you totally, the only things I can see where those two are better is for the fact they strung along a bunch of years.. Last year Revis shut down everyone..

I dont think 'by far' is reasonable after one AllPro season. Yes he is by far the most publicized corner and yes he was great last year but lets not put him in the Hall just yet.

Isnt it amazing that teams who win SBs dont get this big head disease, yet the Jets get it because the Colts laid down and let them finish 1 game over .500 and back in to the playoffs.
Imagine what would happen if they ever were really successful?
I attribute this to Rex Ryan and his unending desire to tell the world how great they are in some way thinking peoples opinions of his team matter, thereby making all of his players feel overrated and like they achieved more than they did.

I don't know how people don't see all the negative fallout that will come from his immaturity in the press a mile away.

Revis is better than Bailey ever was, and is by far the best CB out there... but he's not worth even close to $20M per. It was ridiculous when the Raiders gave Asomugha $15M per, so shooting for a full third more... yeah.

Anyways, strategically, I can see why he'd do it. The Jets are going to throw a ton of money around over the next 12 months either way, he's basically just saying "you'd better throw it at me isntead of guys like Tomlinson and Jason Taylor". Because the Jets are under enormous pressure from their fans, have an image to maintain, and need to sell those PSLs, they might even cave.

How was he elite for 2 years, when the Jet D was pretty weak in 2008?
Revis has a LONG way to go to be in Baileys class, much less far better.

I dont think the colts attacked revis, it was the 3rd and 4th CBs they attacked after 2 jet CBs went down with injuries during the game. If i remember correctly, Collie had a big game for Indy whereas Revis was matched with Wayne all game.

the problem is though that a contract that big will establish a bad precedent. if mccourty is ever in his class, he's going to ask for the same thing.

What are you saying? Revis does not have a better career than Bailey, he may end up having it, but not right now.

Most of the people won't agree, but I still think Asomugha is the best corner in the NFL, with Revis a close second. Its crazy, QB just don't throw to Asomugha.

He is saying that last year Revis had a better season than any single season Bailey ever had. Also interesting you bring up Asomugha you make a good point because he led all corners in 2009 (also 2008) with only allowing 246 yards while Revis gave up 425 yards but we also have to factor in the level of competition each corner faced as well
