Damn those JETs. Always win the off season SB year after year!

Re: Pats reign is finally over - ESPN

More helium for the inflated NY ego. Quick up the building before reality shoots you down again.

Re: Pats reign is finally over - ESPN

I think it was Charles ****ens who wrote "it is a far, far better thing to have had a dynasty than to never had a dynasty at all".

There is no doubt now that the Jest are teh pre-season favorites to win another pre-season championship.

Re: Pats reign is finally over - ESPN

I didn't even need to see the ESPN New York logo to figure that this article was written by a New Yorker. ************. The Pats, Dolphins, and Bills might as well just throw in the towel now. What chance do we have?

Look, the Holmes move was a good one, IMO. But it is still an extremely high gamble. That team has a lot of big mouths and big egos on it and if things start to go south, that locker room can fracture and break just as easily, if not easier, than it was assembled. The media has put a big, fat target on the Jesters backs this offseason - not just within the division, but within the conference as well. Let's see how they handle it...

The King is dead, long live the King.

Re: Pats reign is finally over - ESPN

Who the hell is "Johnette" Howard? As I read the first few sentences of her piece, I thought she was being sarcastic.

I don't think that any knowledgeable fan or follower of the NFL can dismiss the possibility that the Jets will eclipse the Pats next season, but anyone who concludes that that "possibility" is a "certainty" doesn't know what s/he is talking about. None of the Jets off season moves is a sure winner and each brings with it a measure of risk; add to that an unproven QB, and I think the reasonable response is "Let's wait and see."

The Jets often have a great March and April, but are nowhere to be seen in January. If this year is going to be different, they have to prove it.

The obligatory yearly "The _______ have surpassed the Pats for the AFC East article". Every year it is one of the three other teams that have surpassed the Pats. One day it will be true (possibly this year), but I always laugh when I see the articles.

As for this article, it is an article primarily for Jets fan. Do you think that the writer is going to say LT is done, Cromartie is overrate, and Holmes is one "wake and bake" away from trading a fifth round pick for nothing.

Re: Pats reign is finally over - ESPN

People are going to start piling on because it has been three years since we won a playoff game. Let them talk. In BB we trust.

Two years. The last game the Pats won was in January of 2008.

Pack it up guys, its over.

Re: Pats reign is finally over - ESPN

I don't think there is any question the Jetskins have gathered some talented players. It will be interesting to see if they can co-exist.

I'm glad that article was written, though. The more that happens to get the Jets thinking they are the greatest thing ever, the better.

correction, ESPN New York. Be fair, your just as bad as ESPN with your misleading title.

JETSKINS!!! Love it....Jaiders fits as well.......

Re: Pats reign is finally over - ESPN

Remeber when Ty Law put the Jets over the top at this time of year a few years ago? Those were the good ole days! Then it was Brett Favre. The Jets can have the April sweepstakes every year as far as I am concerned. Lets see where they are in November. Fair to middlin' is my bet (not a tough bet as that is about where the Jets are every November no matter what).

Re: Pats reign is finally over - ESPN

Jets can make all the moves they want but their undoing will remain their signal-caller. If the team can win without a QB, then they have a shot but if Sanchise has to throw the ball 20 times a game, they're cooked.

I think what Jets lost will untimately be their biggest FA failure when we look back on it.

Re: Pats reign is finally over - ESPN

Jets have surpassed the Patriots yet the writer is still comparing the Jets against the Patriots? Rightio love.

Personally I'm glad. Let the Jets shoulder the acclaim and burden of performance whilst the Patriots can rekindle the underdog status once more.

Re: Pats reign is finally over - ESPN

This is the second time I've read an article by Ms. Howard. I feel sorry that her father badly wanted a son and heaped such expectations on his daughter.

Re: Pats reign is finally over - ESPN

In 2009, the Jets scheduled the Superbowl for Week 2 of the regular season. In 2010, they moved it up by five months.

I'm not willing to charge into the ludicrous fray on either side of this debate. We have 4 picks in the top of the draft. This is a time when a second-rounder can just as easily become a trade for a GREAT veteran as good draft pick. Also, not many of our "needs" are guys who need to warm the bench for a year before they can play.

I feel good about the jump our rookies from last year (some GREAT picks) will make and I think the next 3 weeks are going to be very interesting. No one can predict the future and the Jets were one game away from the SB last year (falsely, imo), but I don't think we need to fear the collapse of our team.

If anything, a divisional dogfight is just what this team needs. I say bring it on.
